Welcome to the forum. The wonderful information here in the forum has inspired me. I had a fantastic afternoon at my first Raw Picnic. Everyone I met was incredibly supportive and friendly. Enjoy your journey...
So glad to hear that you are feeling better and getting some guidance. I have had a sensitivity to nightshade family for several years........they trigger rheumatoid arthritis. Interesting though, my sensitivity seems to have diminished since quitting smoking and eating mainly raw foods. I am still very wary of eating many nightshades and I don't buy any. I have always believed that food sensitivities are related to the liver not working effectively......give your liver a chance to heal and you may find that other symptoms will simply vanish.
I hear you, veganwolf, and I feel the pain. It sometimes seems that nothing stands in the way of human greed. I didn't want to put this quote in the positive thread. I think it is relevant to your response and in some way BB's post.
The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.
Life is no brief candle for me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment, and I want to make burn as brightly as possible before handing it to future generations.
I am fairly new to this site and eating raw. I have not read 80/10/10 but I know that many folks in the forum refer to it and I have been thinking of purchasing a copy. You can buy a copy from the Raw Shop here on this website.
I am fairly new to this forum and eating raw as well. Welcome! I have also found that I am spending a fair bit of money given that I am only buying for myself. Particularly, when I buy organic nuts and dried fruits. I have also found that some of the items that are mentioned in the recipes are specialty lines and come with a specialty price tag, lol. I have a lot to learn. I think we would spend less if we were lucky enough to be in buying groups and shared the benefits of buying in bulk.
I believe that my body and my health are worth whatever it costs. I also believe that we are very lucky to live in this beautiful coutry where fruit and vegetables are plentiful and generally easy to obtain.
Thanks for starting this thread, Kittyk. I was just about to start a new thread "Help, I am freezing", lol. Here I am in beautiful Queensland and not used to a cold change. The weather has been windy and raining all day after a beautiful sunny day yesterday.
Over the last few weeks, I have managed to get myself to about 95% raw foods. I have been having delicious green smoothies everyday. I feel like I get younger everyday, woohoo. Yesterday, I was at the fruit barn....bopping away to the music and one of the guys there came and started dancing with me...everyone was smiling and laughing.
I am feeling nice and warm now. I have had some raw cacao, a warm shower, gave myself a facial, massaged my legs and arms, and put on some warm clothes.
I don't have a dehydrator, so I will be trying some of the other suggestions for warming food if I need to.
Lol, lulu, I don't know what the recommended amount is but a dessert spoon seems a bit much. I put around a teaspoon in my green smoothie blend. That blend is usually about 1.5 to 2 litres and will last me for most of the day. I think your gall bladder may have had something to say about the amount of oil you had. It will pass, lol.
I haven't posted before but have been lurking around reading all the awesome, inspiring posts. I am gradually adding more and more raw food to my diet. I rarely eat any cooked food. I was so excited when my new blender was delivered yesterday. I was looking forward to trying out some of the smoothie recipes I had seen on this forum.
I live at Cleveland and I am keen to meet other raw food enthusiasts. This may seem like an obvious question from a newbie. What time do your picnic usually start? I couldn't see any time written in the post for the picnic tomorrow. Also, how will I recognise the group? Or should I wander around asking what people are having for lunch, lol...
