1  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: Harley Says.... on: Wednesday 02 July, 2008
Why do I see more disagreement here than support or agreement?? Everyone has an opinion and they think their correct. It's a shame how the raw food community just can't be behind one another. Harley is Harley, why try to change him as such or try to figure him out, isn't this a waste of time?? True, Harley has the excitement of youth and newness to raw, let him go with it, it's his thread. Why or if he deserves his own thread is another discussion though. Maybe I've been doing this too long to let these things bother me, and if people leave, chances are they will never reach where they want to be anyhow.

I have a question for the calorie restriction train of thought.
Restricting based on what?? On what they already eat?? So if they undereat, they restrict that?? If they overeat, restricting that makes sense. Sooo, where is the line drawn to start restricting and what is enough food then for those who believe in this??

If I'm correct, aren't some of these low cal raw foodists mentioned such as Tim, been eating raw under 5 years?? Myself has been longer than this and I truly do not take much stock in their experiences. It's just simply not long enough I think. Not saying I disagree with some of their points though laugh Maybe others disagree. F1 has been quoted as longer but he is so secretive no one truly knows what he is doing on a day to day.

Quite interesting, especially with the brown colored animation on their site.

Is it my browser or is the picture link you posted moving backward??  huh
4  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: Washing fruit on: Monday 26 May, 2008
I don't really over think it - I rinse my fruit as needed or desired. I simply use tap water and rinse. I do like to rinse if I see visable dirt or when storing certain fruits such as grapes in the fridge for a few days for prolonged freshnes. As far as the B12 theory, that has been around for quite some time and do you really want to eat dirt for your B12 if you are concerned??

If anything, I would make sure your fruit is dry pretty much before eating.

I have been wondering these same things and researching off and on myself lately . . . again as I have done many times before through in the past. Each time I come to the same conclusion ---> There is no complete answer for everyone. Nobody truly knows. Everyone disagrees to one point or another, even the raw food gurus, the beginners, the meat eaters, the doctors, etc. etc.   shrug
6  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Bike recommendation maybe?? on: Monday 12 May, 2008
I have a question I hope can fit in here -

Any suggestions on buying a bike??

Would be looking to spend $500-$700
Travel mainly on smooth bike trails
Also want to take it on dirt trails
Not hard, rough riding either
I'm 6'1" also

Even a brand name to look into would be great, as well as anything else.

The info out there is overwhelming at times and would be nice to hear what you think.

thanks

Sounds like you are pretty new to some things, so I wouldn't be concerned with overdosing actually. If you are feeling bloated and stuffed then lay back. Otherwise, enjoy your new finds and progress from there. Whatever keeps you moving forward and raw is the goal I feel.

Low fat is the key.
There is no "shortcut", there is no "what about this" either. You have to do it. Check your fat intake with a calorie counter to make sure you are in the low numbers also before you disregard the idea as failed. People get more fat than they realize in their diets, even raw foodists.
