[Im compelled to share a group email just sent by Joy.. blessings to you!!
The World used to be flat
Or so we were told. Most of our greatest truths were first held as blasphemies.
The Don Tolman talk in Sydney last week was inspiring, informative and duh, just plain logical. Don likes to use the word ‘duh’ in his talks and in his books. Yes, we know a lot of this stuff, yes we know there are things happening out there with the superpowers and drug lords and conspiracy theories and, and, and.. it’s all so exhausting.
But I quote from Don’s book - “ I for one feel passionately that it’s time for the iconoclasts, 21st Century Farmacists, to step up, to speak up, and to act up.” (iconoclast – a person who attacks established or traditional concepts, principles etc). I would prefer to say ‘challenges’ rather than attacks.
The word Farmacist is one that Don has coined and says “A Farmacist is a modern day sage. A person filled with wisdom and knowledge and intuition in the art, science, and method of health. To understand life, vitality, and health study those things.” The Farmacist Desk Reference is a set of 2 enormously heavy volumes filled with incredible wisdom to be passed on to future generations.
“May the Farmacist Desk Reference lead you gently into a bloodless, non-violent revolution, of thought, deed, passion and magnified health. May you stand as a peaceful but firm iconoclast. Not a wizard of popular drugs, nutritional chemicals and supplements but rather a sage of the experience of whole foods and the principles of health. When our numbers reach critical mass, we’ll colonise into the 76th State of The Union . A state without borders or boundaries. A global state. A state of tolerance. A state of kindness and of service to one another in a spirit of love and caring. A state of liberty through health and its natural economy. It takes less of everything to be healthy, rather than sick. Have a friend of a loved one get an FDR (Farmacist Desk Reference), lets build our global community.”
In our Raw food meet-up group and at our raw food potlucks I have already met and read member profiles of some pretty dedicated people. I am proud to be part of this energy, we already have our own growing community here in Sydney of like-minded people who are standing up and making a difference.
Thanks especially to Karyn who started the raw food meetup group and Gay who founded the potluck gaiastable dinners. Through both these amazing ladies we have over 200 people on the combined mailing lists. Natalie who spends hours keeping the events and calendar updated – Pet Fair on this Saturday 4th October and Sandy who is offering talks on raw food and organising events, also on this Saturday the love gathering www.lovegathering.com/ . Vegans and Vegetarians uniting to promote a plant based diet to help our Earth.
Grant, our Raw Aussie Athlete, an inspiration and picture of health after walking the talk, going to Hawaii , studying and doing a 28 day fast with Dr. Doug Graham. Not to mention he has also organised 3 successful raw retreats for us so far. I am trying to pin Grant down and book him to do a talk for our meet-up group. For more information on Grant see: http://www.myspace.com/RawAussieAthlete
Freelea, who cycled from Adelaide to Brisbane spreading the raw word, sharing her energy and love along the way www.freelea.blogspot.com/. And Harley aka Durian Rider who spreads the Raw word here and overseas.
There are so many of you standing out and making a difference, Greg, Matt & Sarah, Loren, Mark and I’m sure there must be more but these are all the people I have come into contact with over the last couple of years and look forward to meeting so many more.
To all the ICONOCLASTS – keep on doing what you’re doing. (as you can see I learnt a new word today……..)
Joy ……………..fully

"The more generous we are, the more joyous we become. The more cooperative we are, the more valuable we become. The more enthusiastic we are, the more productive we become. The more outgoing we are, the more helpful we become. The more curious we are, the more creative we become. The more patient we are, the more understanding we become. The more persistent we are, the more successful we become." ~ William Arthur Ward, (1921-1994) ~ sounds like a brilliant idea to me

PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Beauty / Raw Lip Gloss
|
on: Friday 04 April, 2008
|
|
Just found this on Tonya Kays fab website ..... Im off to make some! x
So, I don't wanna buy the plastic containers that lip stick comes in. Nor do I want to put any potentially dangerous ingredients onto my lips, which are really another name for "just outside the mouth skin". So I devised a delicious and all raw lip gloss!
In my sexy solar powered food dehydrator, I placed a bowl of (all organic):
- 1/2 C raw cacao butter - 1/8 C raw coco butter - 1/4 C raw coconut oil - 1/4 C raw orange blossom honey - 5 drops spearmint essential oil
Let these things melt in the sun's heat, give'em a good stir, and pour into little lip balm containers and let harden. And get this: all the ingredients are food - actually, decadent superfood desert ingredients! I'm wearing food on my lips and it tastes good. I better not carry a spoon else I eat it before I audition in it.
To color the gloss, I added a 1/4t of mineral blush to 2t of the gloss, stirring thoroughly before allowing to harden.
ingenious !!

oh thankyou so much for the well wishes ... I am really touched to have found this post. Ive seen so much of China in the last few months - we have travelled down the old silk road from the Gobi desert near the Mongolian border down south, and now reside at a place called Hengdian. Asia's epicentre ...its a mammoth film studio complex; there's a 1:1 replica of the Forbidden City outside my window, acres of weeping willows and water features for miles around ... watch out Bollywood... there's a crouching tiger, hidden dragon around the corner Im having an adventure of a lifetime, working obscene hours, but loving every moment of it .... the film is going to be amazing - its called The Children of Huang Shi - not sure if its going to be released with this title but ill keep you posted missing everyone here and send all of you special warm fuzzies from the orient Lots of Love oksy xoxox ps - goji berries are a plenty here ... they cost peanuts!

on: Saturday 21 October, 2006

Ive always avoided silverbeet as I was told its hard for the system to disgest - both cooked, and especially raw. On too many occasions Ive been fooled in thinking spinich = english spinich, and alas I get a bowl of silverbeet. Since its green and I love my Greens Ive been slowly introducing it into my smoothies, but something inside me doesnt like it .... Im looking at my smoothie now and after a few sips Im over it, my tummy doesnt want it either. Can someone reasure me its only me! ps. Greetings to All! Ive been a very busy chicken lately
