I want to share a story with you ...
As a young child, I almost died of asthma. My mother went into shock from the thought of losing her first born that she started looking elsewhere for answers. This was back in the mid 70’s in Moscow, a communist country frozen from the outside world. But somehow she stumbled upon Dr Walker's work. His books became her bible and the family of 4 lived predominantly on raw ... juices and salads were our middle name

This by no means was an easy task, food in general was scarce in Russia at that time... the shops were empty and it was this period that Russia's images of people queuing became infamous. Yet when times are tough; the will, the desire and the motivation to survive is most strong.
This way of life continued well into my early teens – well definitely till I was 11; having immigrated to Australia when I was five. My childhood memories of waking to a big glass of green juice for breakfast are very vivid, and sitting before a mountain of salad for dinner was the norm! I don’t remember being really sick as child – nor my parents. A high temperature was always soothed with a hot lemon honey water and snuggled into bed. The next day Id be bouncing around again.
There was youth, vitality and empowerment in this family. A vigour that was very different from everybody else. We were indestructible.......
My sister and I had a special stash under the bed that contained empty lolly boxes … (the boxes that cool mints, jelly bellies etc use to come in) We could literally count the times we had had candy or sweets …. pretty amazing hey? Im only now just remember all these details…..
I don’t remember feeling like we were missing out on anything, collecting those boxes was not a yearning for more lollies, it was definitely an infatuation for the colourful cool boxes that was the rarity (this would make a great study for those apposing advertising campaigns directed at young children – the ‘from cradle to death’ brand-loyalty strategies are scary stuff!)
Anyway, my point being is that children are like sponges and are learning about the world from our world. I keep stumbling upon sites where mums/dads write about how they are amazed to find their children reaching for their vegies and fruit when the parents change their own diet to raw …. I am not surprised by this, the food is hydrating and succulent - our body knows what it needs/wants (babies too)… Mum says she use to grate all sorts of fruits and vegies - apples, carrots etc and place infront of us and then see what we would eat ...our desicions would vary daily.
I am now in the process of re-membering all this ... what an amazing journey its been, but im certainly looking forward to the future aswell!
To the good times - good health and prosperity come hand in hand!
