Welcome, Claire! Enjoy every fresh, ripe gobble & bite Shocked) It helps me if i plan my daily eats & premake certain things. At least 1 each gs, seed/fruit smoothie, & juice daily helps me also. Oh, & keeping my nanas in stock... & oranges & celery & pears & apples &... I also pre-grind 1c of flax & keep it in the freezer w/the rest of my small seeds (whole flax, hemp, pumpkin, sesame...). Have fun! Love

Doing badly w/food currently. Emo eating pretty constantly as my old girl (cat) is on the way out. I so want her to go as gracefully as she lived. She's always been very fastidious but she's unable to be as thorough as her balance is off & she just cannot move those old bones the way they used to. My 1st cat, my old man, was 17 when my dad had him put to sleep- i was in the af out in kansas so i wasn't able to say good-bye. Now i'm just wanting Nade to be comfy & happy which means she can sit in the midst of us as we eat our meals- on the table! My mom is apalled- i told her i'd let her sit on the table when she gets to Nade's age... Hub keeps trying to make me feel better: "she's had a great life- she's been given a lot of luv for a lot of years"- etc. Yesterday morn she got in bed w/us & is here again. I try to get her to purr amap because i still think its a good measure of a cat's happiness but also because she has a great rumbly purr that i am going to miss horribly. Hub talked to the boys about her going soon & that they are allowed to be sad & everything & how it may affect me since i've had her so long- almost 2x as long as i've had hub/boys! I was lamenting to hub that we still have Princess & The Pauper & that i don't want to go thru this 2x more. He said "are you saying we're not allowed to have anymore cats?" me: "i'm saying no more pets period unless they outlive me." him: "i'll get you an elephant then." which means he knows i'm a sucker for anything w/paws & i'm full o' stuff when i declare no more! On to dietary concerns- going to have a gs in the later am... parsley, nanas, fr bbs. May make some raw cream of zuke soup for lunch. We shall see... Love

There are plastic moulds you can put on young squashes so that, by the time they're grown they make a face. Love

Wish i could share pics... & change my sign-on... & type w/a keyboard... Le sigh. S-h-i-t-o-r (pronounced sheetoe) din is an african condiment that is "used on everything" in ghana. It is stupid spicey. You can buy it jarred in specialty markets or you can make it fresh. There's still about 3c in my fridge- & we're 3 days into south america! The recipe called for 12 peppers. I used 4- lol. Craziness!            Finally had baby spin in my gs today. It had been sooo long. Had 2 oranges & 5 nanas in it also. Turned the heat on today, set @ 65f- which isn't much like heat to many people i would guess. My Sam became a 7yo today. I tried to talk w/him about me not celebrating it but he was so fine w/it all i just left it @ that. Hub was jostled by it but was happy that i wasn't... righteous overmuch, i guess.  I have enlightened him on certain things- those "i didn't know that" moments keep me on my toes! lol. Tomorrow, i may make a green grape-honeydew-cuke juice. Very excited! Maybe i'll add celery for a bit o' balance... Will post re: it. Love

1 1/2c cashews, 1/8c lemon juice, 1c water, 1/4c nutritional yeast: blend until smooth. Add 1/2c sunflower seeds & blend until smooth. Add grn or spring onions, to taste, blend well. Add 1-2 cloves garlic. Blend until pref consistency (i like bits of garlic so i only blend @ high for about 20 secs. Or omit yeast, replace some water w/lemon juice. Delicious! Love

Shocked( sorry to hear that Carm. I'm a mothering mother-type & worried 'bout yrself. Will nose yr journal- hope the wee'uns are okay!  Sup last night was a big grapefruit. Dessert, boutenko's chocolate blizzard. Snacks for the day- 2 figs, a carrot from the garden, an immature melon from the garden, 3 dates. Today's menu: smoothie or grapefruit for breaky, open-faced sandwiches for lunch (living bread slices, savory cream cheeze, tom slices, cuke slices, alf sprouts, mebbe a tiny dollop of sheetoe din), supper- a soup & salad combo. Love  (((Carm & family)))

Carm- bread's pretty good! Had some w/lunch. Eats for today, so far: breakfast- parsley/nana/fr bbs gs. lunch- tomato soup w/alfalfa sprout garnish and 3 slices bread w/savory neufchatel cream cheez. Here's the recipe: 1 1/2c cashews, 1/8c lemon juice, 1c water, 1/4c nutritional yeast, 1/2c sunflower seeds, green onion or chives to taste, garlic to taste. Blend 1-4 until smooth. Add sun seeds & onion/chives & blend until smooth. Add garlic, blend until garlic disappears to yr taste. Really good on the bread recipe from poeomm. Thinking of having carrot juice or a salad for sup. Love

Ah, i see certain words are still being censored. Well, it is pronounced SHEE-toe din. & it is raw. & it is wicked spicey. & i have a 1/2 pitcherful. I'll freeze it. Gives me a reason to try corn chips. Hub brought home a few bags of nanas but none are ripe "enough". Thankfully, i have 3 perfect 1s leftover from last week for gs in the morn. Have noticed the earlier i eat the hungrier i become thru-out the day. The opposite tends to happen when i have something around 11am. Need to put away leftovers then go to sleep- i'm plumb tuckered out! Lol. Love

The bits i've had were good, Carm- but it's still in! Since 6:30am! I've been very good today. Read on...     AM i had a big bowl of apple jacks which filled me 'til 3pm-ish when i had lunch. Maerin's mashed "potatoes" w/fresh rosemary from my garden! My rosemary bush is so happy- which makes me happy... Supper will be rice & beans w/*or din. Love

I am back up after a wee nap, having a bowl of mod apple jacks from a patenaude book: handful cashew pieces, chopped dried apple & nana, chopped fresh apple & nana, juice of 2 oranges, couple dashes of cinnamon. Delish delish delish! Time to flip the bread. Love
