Celery also sounds like a great idea! I used to love carrot celery and apple juice. Could make a version of that!

Thank you RoarOnRaw!

I just went and bought myself a better blender (a sunbeam cafe something or other) with the proviso that i will upgrade to a vitamix or similar if i use it enough.

I have made my first one already! (methinks I might be craving some nutrients after eating poorly for a while now) i put in a packet of baby spinach (150g) plus 2 apples and a banana (small). It makes a lot of green smoothie!!! 2 tall glasses worth. But I figure its better than the milky way I just had...

Actually the taste is quite mild, the spinach is a very friendly flavour - and the apple seems to be dominating. Will experiment with other greens soon. The benefit of baby spinach is that it comes pre-washed which is good for a lazy bugger such as myself.

looking forward to experimenting!

Hi all,

I have done some searching but can't find quite what I am looking for.

Can someone tell me what greens go in green smoothies and what else you put in?

I have read that spinach is good but was wondering what other options there are?

Thank you!

i know lots of barefoot runners! One lady says the worst bit is in races because there are so many people spitting!

Can't imagine it myself - my biomechanics are too flawed and I have about 15 excess kgs Smiley

Hmm interesting - this may be what happened to me and make me freak out and go back to eating as much cooked food as ever. I did about 2 days fully raw and then ate something (I can't remember what - it was not raw) and I was doubled over with extreme cramping for a number of hours. Whatever it was it scared me off and I haven't been able to quite get the courage to go back to raw.

I realise I should do it gradually - but find that i am more of an all or nothing kind of person...

Interesting! Although it is quite macabre on one level, on the other I am a very committed organ donor and would be pleased to think of my bits and pieces being used to fix someone's bones after an accident or to help them keep active into a lovely old age!

I just had the best salad for lunch! carrot/capsicum/celery/beans/snowpeas/other peas/avocado/red cabbage/red onion all cut up nice and small with a few walnuts crumbled in and the only cheating things were a few artichokes (from a jar) and the dressing was pre-crushed garlic with vegetable bouillon and apple cider vinger. Awesome!

I am finding it difficult to make such a beautiful salad and not take a photo - so I have all these salad photos on the digital camera. I think the boy is highly amused (but in an affectionate kinda way)... Smiley

Freelea my friend dave has done a lot of crazy cross country cycling and if you scroll back through his blog you will find lots of information! I am sure he would also be amenable to answering any questions you might have Smiley

He is more carnivore than raw - but a truly top bloke.

ok - well I am officially back on the wagon with some freshly squeezed orange juice and banana/pear/walnut/almond/date/goji fruit salad.

yesterday I didn't eat particularly well and after I ate some chocolate cake that my gorgeous man made I had a blinding headache. I also had a bit of a stomach upset during the day (not choc cake related Smiley ) so I am going to take it as a sign and stick to 2 meals per day raw for this week.

I will need to take some snacks to uni this afternoon to prevent a coffee and banana bread mishap...
12  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: What makes you tick? on: Sunday 04 May, 2008
I like this thread Smiley

What makes me tick is working to help people (and myself first and foremost) be the best, happiest version of themselves at home and work that they can be. I am gradually rearranging my life to make this my career as well as my biggest extra-curricular interest and now run my own business in training/consulting and coaching after ditching the corporate world to be the boss of me!

Thanks BB - I am feeling remarkably forgiving of myself at present - and like tomorrow will be a perfect time to get back on the wagon. Quite unlike me so perhaps it is the champers talking too!

Hello! I am a bit of a running nut so your city 2 surf note made me get the courage to say hi! I am hoping to be back in Perth for this race (probably the half marathon) if I am healed and healthy. When I lived in Perth I always wanted to be able to run but was out of breath running around the block - this race will be something of a homecoming for me Smiley
