PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: Oil Pulling - What do you think? Anyone tried it?

Cheers to all who have put into this thread! Since reading it I have been very interested with all the news and expressions posted, so much so that I decided to give it a crack myself a couple of days ago! My first experience I wanted to spit it out the oil as soon as it touched my tongue and as my senses kicked in with the smell/taste of it all! However I kept it in thinking of all that I have read from your posts, and soon got into a rythum. After 5 minutes I thought, geez another 15 minutes, well ok When it was time to rinse it didn't fel as long as I thought it would and my mouth felt revitalised in some way after brushing! Throughout the day I noticed that I felt an ever so thin coating on my teeth. I then thought I wonder if you are not only bringing up the toxins and ridding yourself of them but also coating your teeth so it is less likely for food bits to cram themself between teeth and for plaque to not build up in as many areas! Just some food for thought there.. salt water

Thank you so much Dragonfly for your gesture of searching and posting. I too did a little research and found nothing to worry about. I was brought up being taught that the skin of a fruit or veg is part of the goodnes sometimes even better for you. I guess the best thing here is to eat mostly organic produce so the skin truly is only in it's pure form and if your tummy begins to feel funny or your spending most of your time on the dunny, then it is time to explore new horizons! Stay true, salt water xx

Hee hee, thanks fbi, Hyena's on heat hahaha, that is so funny. I will have a look into that vid on youtube as it sounds interesting and I agree with you on how would they test it?? I'll do some more investigation with the non-digestable skin eating. I guess I thought I may receive a more honest and detailed answer from people in Raw Pleasure! Nevertheless I agree that if I'm digesting them there should be nothing to be too worried about, I would just like to know if I was putting more strain on my degestive track. Thanks again for your reply fbi, have a lovely day. Keep smilin' salt water

PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Non-digestable Fruit Skin??
|
on: Monday 09 June, 2008

Hi To All, Today as I opened up a box and with my wide eyes open I found my brand new Dehydrator within. As I began to read through the pages of the Dehydration Guide, on page 4 it stated to remove the skins of the following; Sweet Potato, Pineapple, Turnips and Kiwi Fruit because they all have non-digestable skins! Is this true?? Kind Regards, salt water

Hi Fellow Rawbies, Today I made the adventure to Tropical Fruit World here on the Goldie, well it's really over the NSW Border but only just!! Anyway I really had eyes on trying some Jack Fruit before arriving. Whilst there the gentleman behind the counter allowed my brother and I to taste a sample and although my bro was an expert to it's taste, I was a virgin! Oh my gosh, I now completely understand and agree that this IS the bubblegum fruit!!! I was gob-smacked, I actually pushed my tongue through it's fleshy consistancy as I used to do as a kid when I just put a piece of Hubba Bubba into my mouth! I'm still amazed as I recall the experience I can smell it's intensity each time I open the door to the fridge now and it's sooo sweet and rich to smell. Now that I have half a huge Jackfruit sitting in my fridge, I don't know what to do with so much of it! Any ideas that could be shared would be greatly appreciated! Can you do anything else but just eat it on it's own?? Thanks yor'l salt water x
