31  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / Off Topic Chat / Re: our future is in our hands on: Wednesday 04 June, 2008
Here here Freelea,

Last night after posting I thought about it further and I came to the response of something down the lines of what you stated, Show them and prove to them how one's potential can thrive in abundance on a raw eating plan! So far so good however it is early days for me still! 25 days today and as strong as ever! The current comments are that I shouldn't stay on this plan but why wouldn't I after the new found experiences and feelings I am feeling. Plus moving past selfishness and learning just how much this lifestyle helps our planet and helps each other. Allow the butterfly effect to begin...

I love the statement and want to be true to it, Be The Change You Want To See In The World!
This past 25 days I have read so much and learnt a great deal on the effects of our planet and I know that it will be my rite of passage to continue learning till the day I leave this world physically. There is much to learn and for the first time in my life I feel alive to it all and want to create open eyes for all who are willing to receive.

DR I have read much of your posts and I thoroughly enjoy your vast knowledge and ways to live, thanks and kudos to you!
I too used to fish a lot and last week I looked at my fishing gear in the corner of my room and realised I can't do it anymore, I've awakened!
I want to become more awake to the lies and deception that is currently being swamped around us, so I can be more in control of my own life and be one with nature and not in hunt for it! This way with further knowledge I can teach to other's who where their blinkers each day, and do not realise the truths of what is going on in our world we share.

Freelea I see you are heading to the Goldie. I have saved Raw on the Road and will watch with great interest and admiration as you make this inpirational journey!
I live on the Gold Coast and it would be a pleasure to meet you. I am sending you energised thoughts and sincere strength to help guide you on your experience. All the thoughts and prayers will be riding on your shoulder and within your heart. Keep them there and remember them when you need them as many are pulling for you!

Keep safe and keep smilin'
Enjoy everything

Hi and thank you Freelearaw,

Your post is exactly what I need to move forward and keep watching the truth of what is happening in our society in regards to the meat industry. I was able to watch just a 12 mintue snippet of a Youtube video on FB a week ago that my brother had sent me. I coldn't believe it... I was in auw and shakkin to the reality of it all and felt it may have been enough for me! It isn't because automatically I wanted to share this to the world, all my friends were a good start on FB!
Reading your post was wonderfully inspiring to get back on the horse (so to speak) and continue my knowledge and pass the knowledge onto others!
As my next feat is to present some further knowledge to fellow gym mates as there awareness is caught up within the lies and deception of how we get our protein!

I loved your post and all it's interesting facts. I will finally take the steps to watch the film "Earthlings," what is considered very harsh but what is all but true! There is no sense leaving my blinkers on any more, I am ready!

I can't thank you enough!

Regards,
salt water

p.s If you have any skills to help me help others in the gym field, I would be highly grateful xx
34  FAQ - Check Here for the most common Answers! / Raw Food FAQ / Re: Juicing and Aloe Vera on: Tuesday 03 June, 2008
Hi Rawkiwi,

I started looking into Alow Vera and how to consume it for the first time last week. I have also tried finding where I gathered my info from and cannot replace my footsteps as yet but give Youtube a hit and if I come across it I will post it for you.

However, some of the details I do recall is that you can't just eat any Aloe Vera and there are many different types!
The ones you can eat for medicinal purposes should be the length of your forearm. Allow the seeping gel to drip away and then as Raw-S said cut away the skin or you'll be becoming best friends with your potty!  laugh

This guy I saw cutting the skin stated he started to skin it from the thickest end and cut it as close as possible to the skin ensuring you do not lose much of it's magical substance but made sure there was absolutely no trace of it's outer layer whatsoever! Once you have removed all trace of the skin, you are left with the solid part of the gel which can be thrown into a blender with your favourite juices.

This gentleman I watched also was very big on thanking his resource each morning when he broke off one entire leaf!

Hope this starts your guide positively and I will keep in search for my aloe resources to send yor'll

Keep smilin'

G'day Jen,

I agree totally that it all needs to be taken into account for a pure delightful way to lose weight and tone yourself in a healthy and constructive manner. I find as you start the momentum the excitement carries you further with the "want" to be more healthy. But hey thats just me!

Different body structures and types are definitely something to be aware of too as I probably was thinking a little bit too much into the catagory of being self-centred, so thanks for the knock in the head  kookoo as I truly do hear ya!

Hope you and the fam are well!! How are those nuggets in the bag going???  laugh

Kind Regards,
Salt water

Hi Annette,

When I started to lose weight from stretching and just walking I must say I was confused too but highly excited!  yahh
I then carried my motivation through to eating better and feeling like true magic.

Anyhow, when the muscle is stretched so is the muscle spindle. The muscle spindle records the change in length and how fast and sends signals to the spine which convey this information. This triggers the stretch reflex which attempts to resist the change in muscle length by causing the stretched muscle to contract.
The more sudden the change in muscle length, the stronger the muscle contractions will be. Jump training can be proven with this fact actually!
This basic function of the muscle spindle helps to maintain muscle tone and to protect the body from injury!

Have a lovley evening

Hi there RawConnection,

Currently I am being whipped by my personal trainer so if you have any questions whatsoever I am more than happy to ask for you!

Buttocks... Well this is the one for you then (I cringe each time she gives it to me!) Lunges! I'm now being given weights to hold whilst doing 3x sets of 18 lunges. Go down to the ground as far as possible and it's 18 each leg by the way  Tongue These lunges are standing in the one spot, however I have had to experience the, one step then lunge, take another step then lunge again and so on for 10 metres and then backward lunges for 10 metres. I've been told I'll have butts of steel in no time hee hee well we'll see, but I enjoy the challenge most days!

I can't tell you this enough... Stretch all the time. Stretching will tone you up and keep you from cramping. A few years ago I stretched myself into a fantastic body shape, I was absolutely amazed at my figure and I walked a lot. That was it!

I lost my ways and I lost my strength to want to be at a gym but have passed through that baloney now with a fab new raw eating plan. I am losing weight and toning up all at the same time by doing both cardio and weights. A bit of both I believe is the key but being smart with your inake of food is also very important. Be kind to your body and your body will be kind in return!

To strip my layers off my tummy and tighten it up I am currently working with a Yoga Ball. They usually come with a booklet to help you with exercises, by the way here on the Gold Coast (Oz) we have a Stocktake Sale at Myers this Tuesday up to 30-40% off many items in the store  ohyeah I threw this in incase you want to buy one!!

Oh, the rowing machine is great as it works on just about all muscles in your body and I give myself a time to try and beat each time I'm on it. Doesn't have to be much, I'm happy with an extra metre at the moment!

Anywho, I hope I was some help to you and I wish you an energetic start into becoming another member of the wannabe's..... "butts of steel crew" Go get em' tiger yahh

Kindest Regards,
Salt water xoox
39  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Beauty / Re: calming unruly hair on: Wednesday 28 May, 2008
Hi Princessbee,

I went through the wispy times a couple of monts ago and yes I have fine hair also but shorter. However I tend to grab a hairdresser and not let them go until I gather more knowledge from them in taking care of my hair because I don't do anything with it!
I know the natural way to go is ultimately better but to get to the most purest stage I also know you need to go through times of hardship!
Is this a stage since your perming days??

Cutting the ends is important to stop the frizzing. You stated you are growing it till it reaches your waist, well make sure you have the ever so slight trim as this creates faster growth and knocks out splits ends that develope into untamed hair!

I used to use abit of 100% Shea Nut Butter a couple of ears ago and felt it to be extremely beneficial to give added nutrients and trap in natural oils!

I wish you delightful hair and again when going through the hardship, sometimes the light at the end of the tunnel is not too far away!

Thanks a lot Boxcarguy07,

Your name makes me laugh  laugh

I too am a big fan of cayenne pepper and have it usually once a day, mainly for my meal at night. So hearing that if I have more is better than I'm a happy gal! Morning too hey, good idea!!

I have the good ol' sinus hiccup too and the last time I popped into do some Bowen therapy I was told it usually has something to do with not letting go of something in the past properly? I never got it attended too as what I originally went there for got completely and magically cured, I should really go back!
Sorry I went off the rails from cold extremities to sinus there but all is good, and I appreciate your knowledge.

Enjoy life to it's fullest

Thanks you to my responders,

Love Food, thank you just to let you know the fatty foods are always close-by for me with nuts and dreid fruits plus avocado seems to be my heaven or addiction, you can take any pick!   laugh
However coconut cream I will enjoy adding so thank you. I watched just recently on how to open a baby coconut successfully without losing much juice from RP, thanks Jen!

Organic Girl thank you kindly too, I am currently going to the gym a few times a week keeping my blood flowing and it does keep me warm for a good while, but the blood flow to my hands and feet seem to be minimal later on! Could it be my energy flow, my chakra?? I am drinking around the 2 1/2 litre mark each day, but feel I could drink more during the day and not bundle most of it during the night! I guess the bonus from it is I may have low blood pressure yahh he he he

Thank you kindly Jen, that is incentive to continue strongly my march into 100% raw-territory! 17th day today and going strong with an abundance of love for this world. It feels great and absolutely amazing!

Thank you so much all of you and if I find any further clarity, I will be sure to post it for all.

Keep smilin'

Hi wonderful people,

I was wondering if you could help me on a subject that I have carried with me, well, er forever!

I get very cold extremities being my hands and finger tips especially, also including too my feet and toes. My body therefore gets colder more quickly than many other people I know and I tend to be the first to throw on a jacket or the last to take it off!

I am new to having a strict raw diet, being my 16th day today and last week I came across 2 people in the natural health side of things (1. kinesiology & 2. The Scio machine) inform me to eat more warming foods. After explaining my new way of life and how in will contradict it, they didn't have any answer for me excepting one person said to eat lots of ginger but finished telling me to cut down on my salad intake shrug
I normally eat a good nob of ginger each day and, cayenne pepper and chilli are always stocked well in my cupboard!

I was also informed today from a New Zealander that Vitamin K Thrombin is used over there but she is not sure if it is used or legal here in Oz! Is this stuff ok to take and does anyone know if it works?

Is there anyone out there that can please shed some light on this subject???

Warm wishes,
salt water

Hi GG,

Thank you for that. I own a Vita Mix, is that good in comparison? My brother raved on about it so much that, that is all I had intentions of buying when the time came for a juicer in my life!!

Much appreciated for your communication too Love Spirit. All notes have been wisely taken into account and I can now look forward to making some juices for my outings and not feel so limited with my juicing experiences  ohyeah

Hi GG,

How lovely it is to read your posts again. Did I get that right, posts?

Anyway it's true reading what you are doin is magically energy drawn. I feel like popping out to the garden myself and creating an array of glorious live foods!

May I ask, the jars in your photo's... They are full of juice I am guessing! Do you leave them out or is it only for photographic purposes??

I guess the reason why I ask this is because I feel strange when I juice or cut up live foods and do not enduce them straight away, but there are times I just can't finish them! I feed only myelf, so normally there is always some left-overs from vegies or fruits when cut or juiced.

With your extended knowledge and research could you please enlighten me if there is a time limit on fresh produce and if refridgeration keeps the nutrients intact for a wee-bit of time?

Go Z with all his banana's  yahh

Kind Regards,
salt water

Hi there GG,

I am new to the forum and also too, to my first 30 Day Raw Food Plan which I am currently enjoying thoroughly. I am experiencing my 8th day today! However I am not new to the loss of one being so dear to another, that being of course one's mother!

Firstly, I want to send you my thoughts in well wishes and strength in abundance for you and Z. Reading over your inspirational journal you are kindly sharing, it seems to me that your dreams too are very meaningful and expressive.

I felt completely intune with you and would like to share this...
After 5 and a half month's of my mother's passing, I began to encounter my 1st dreams with her and they were so close, I was there and so was she! It took me another 10 months of sitiing with her each night and just myself talking to her without her communicating words in return to me!
Then the night came where I was able to hold her and feel her body exactly the way I remembered. I loved hearing her voice once more and as this journey reached it's destination of about 8 weeks, it was over for good.
We both had our time to share each other once more and bond saying good bye what truly felt physical in my dreaming, but also saying hello to sharing a new relationship in memories each day, if needed. No one can take this from you as you now share this new special understanding.  smiley

I wanted to share this with you because dreams can be powerful if you are awake for them and it sounds to me as if you are!! Your story together with your mother will go on, just not so much in the physical sense of the word but breathe it in for she will still want to share herself with you.

On the other note, your journal is wonderful and so encaptivating. I look forward to experiencing such an amazing journey, as your's sounds so inspiring.
Your journal sharing to me has been like a GIGANTIC fruit bowl, full of delicious information filled with goodness and nutrients. I thank you sincerely,
saltwater xoooox
