1  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: raw drugs? on: Saturday 21 June, 2008
Oh, I just watched the video, and he didn't say mushrooms were like raw marijuana...
He said he vaporizes cannabis, meaning that he heats it to a temperature below combustions which allows for the release of the active compounds without burning the plant matter.
He called that raw marijuana. Which it's not really, but it is a healthy way to enjoy that particular gift of God that has been so wrongly vilified.

I'm not gonna lie... I love mushrooms.
Nothing wrong with them ('sides their legal status)
Do some research. They are not bad for you at all.

However, for me "likes to party" is a very bad reason to take them.
I eat them mostly for spiritual reasons. Personal insight and so forth.
3  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: Non-digestable Fruit Skin?? on: Saturday 14 June, 2008
The skin of a kiwifruit is the best part IMO!
It has kind of a tang to it and the texture is so nice!
I, as well, understand about people's reaction when biting into a kiwi, skin and all.

I talk as if I am a long time kiwi-eater. Truth be told, I just had my first kiwi last night. And boy am I glad I did. What a wonderful little fruit!

5  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Powders? on: Sunday 08 June, 2008
I recently purchased some Organic spinach powder and some organic beet powder from an online bulk vendor... along with some chlorella, spirulina, and cinnamon.

I've noticed that dehydrators are popular around here, but was wondering... do these powders qualify as raw? I guess that would have to do with the temp. they were heated at... but would dehydrating destroy/denature many nutrients in these foods?

The spinach powder is sooo much easier and palatable to use in my GS's.

Question aside, this is what my GS looks like:

1 banana
1 cup hemp milk
Handful of strawberries
1 orange (with as much pith as possible)
1.5 tbsp spinach powder
1 tbsp beet powder
1 tbsp. spirulina
1 tbsp. chlorella
2 tbsp. maca powder
1 tsp. cinnamon

Yes I know, a lot of powders! Makes it a little bit chalky, but I don't mind at all. It is delicious to me!
And something in this smoothie gets me buuuuuzzzzzing! In a really good way.
6  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: Oil Pulling - What do you think? Anyone tried it? on: Saturday 07 June, 2008
Eh... my gums all of a sudden started getting worse in the week after I started doing it.
I didn't give up though because everywhere I read said that worsening symptoms are signs that it's working.
Now, they've stopped getting worse and there is no more pain at all really, and it seems like flossing is a lot easier and less painful... but the appearance of the gums has not changed yet besides getting worse.

As of last night, I'm now using oil pulling in combination with applying White Oak Bark Powder to the gums (white oak bark is a very powerful astringent and good for getting rid of gum diseases... so I read).
I do the oil pulling in the morning and apply the powder to my gums at night.

Will keep updated. Thanks for asking how it's going, and I wish the best to you!
7  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Fitness & Health / Re: I started the gym... on: Monday 02 June, 2008
You cannot spot reduce fat.
Doing crunches does not eliminate fat from your stomach,
working out the glutes does not get rid of fat on the glutes.
It just doesn't work like that.

If you want to lose fat, you're just going to have to eat a sensible diet, and exercise using a combination of cardio and strength training. The working out isn't even necessary, but it is healthier to get the nutrition from a higher amount of calories and work them off rather than just not eating those calories.
Places on your body where you both store and lost fat from first is one of the few things that is completely determined by genes.

But once you get down to a low enough BF% (bodyfat percentage) you will be happy with how your legs, etc. look.

Just don't go starving yourself now!

Inner beauty most definitely.

Classical or jazz?
10  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / Off Topic Chat / Re: Cooking shows on: Thursday 29 May, 2008
Yes! Me too!

Iron Chef is one of my all-time favorite shows.
I don't cook, so why do I like it so much?

I also loooooooove Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmerman, and 90% if not more of the food on that show I would never even consider eating.

I don't know why I love them so much considering I don't eat cooked food.

That does it! You've convinced me!

I get my first paycheck from my new job tomorrow, and I think I'll be ordering some lickety-split!

I need to check the status of my goji berries too... I ordered 5 lbs. a couple weeks ago, and the bag's getting kind of light. Man, I must eat a lot of those things! MMmmm...  afro

Nice...

I've been meaning to get back into eating spirulina and chlorella.
I used to take the tablets, but those are heated and pressed and whatnot, so I stopped taking them.

I should be ordering some chlorella powder soon.

Peace, friend!

You might want to try cayenne pepper. It's well-known for increasing blood-flow, especially to the peripheral areas of the body.

I love cayenne pepper so so so much.
Taking it once in the morning completely rids me of all of my allergy symptoms and gives me clear sinuses for the entire rest of the day.
15  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: A question for those with children... on: Tuesday 27 May, 2008
Thanks all for the replies!  laugh Great stuff!

The main reason I asked the question is, like I said, I work with children, and I can't help but think that a lot of the wild behavior and "behavioral disorders" that kids have is due to what they eat.
I feel kind of bad putting a kid in time out when they were just fed that processed, sugar-filled snack.

Of course, kids will be kids, but diet I think plays a big role.

I don't know what the Standard Australian Diet is for kids, but kids here in America pretty much eat nothing but junk.
And it breaks my heart.

Anyone else with some stories to share, that'd be great!
