1  PleasureTalk - The Discussion Area / RAW Chat / Re: question on GS on: Sunday 22 June, 2008
Hi again,

I was just reading that a few drops of hydrogen peroxide added to freshly made almond milk preserves it's freshness and makes it last longer.

I also read that lemon juice added to green smoothies helps keep the nice green colour preserved.

Wonder if those two things might help keep GS fresher longer?

Jason.

Thanks Brett for the info on HP.

Does anyone know the correct method fro storing seeds.

I just stocked up on wheatgrass, broccoli, mung bean, sunflower, fenugreek, alfalfa etc and have no idea if I need to store them in the freezer, fridge or pantry cupboard for both long or short term storage.

Any tips on seed storage and use eg. seeds stored for daily sprinkling of trays and also longer term storage for the bulk seeds?

Thanks in advance,

Jason.

Just a note,

On natural news (the health ranger) he has pictures of how to fillet an aloe vera leaf for juicing and smoothies. Good stuff.

Raw Sensation ~

How much MSM did you take?

I have big cracks on my heels and nothing, not even coconut oil, helps them.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I've read blogs on this and some people say it's ok for 2-3 days.  VB in Green For Life also said it's ok for a few days.

Some other say to fill the glass or jar up as much as you can to keep the oxygen out, and store it in the fridge for a day or so. Others have food saver machines and special mason lid attachments that seal the GS, and they then make up big batches and store for several days.  Saw that on kristens raw.

You still get lots of goodness, fibre etc even if not as fresh. Much better to drink a GS that was made an hour or day ago, than not drinking one at all.

I only like them fresh, myself, for the taste factor.

Hello,

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how much Hydrogen Peroxide needs to be added to an Easy Green Sprouter's water reservoir when filling.  Just a good daily dose for basic mold prevention?  I don't have a mold problem yet, but read about adding HP daily on Natural News. It didn't mention dose or type of HP.

Also can I use the HP from the chemist?  I have two strengths the 3% and the other one (forget the Unique in brown glass bottles.

Thanks in advance,

Jason.
