I'm looking to rid myself of candida, would 1-3 weeks of a large banana green smoothie in the morning, 5-8 mangos for lunch, and another large banana green smoothie for dinner be able to turn things around? Should I stick to just one fruit, for a period of time, while getting a variety of greens in my smoothie? What are the benefits of eating 3 large mono meals as apposed to mini mono meals through out the day?
For those of you who follow 811 do you have mini mono meals through out the day or just 3 large mono meals? I usually have green smoothie for breakfest, then I snack on fruits tell lunch (mini mono meals), then another green smoothie for lunch, and then through out the rest of the day I have mini mono meals. Is it best to stick to 3 large meals a day to give your digestive system a break? What do you all find works best?
For those of you that have 80/10/10 does Dr. Graham go over a meal plan for defeating candida? If so are you allowed to share that info? Or does he just say eat any kind of fruit and vegetables and you will see results.
Thanks for the replies everyone. Kebbster the only problem I have with going over 10 % fat is candida. That's why I'm following 811. Once I rid of it then I will introduce more fat but again not that much.
I feel so out of place now. My friends need to have a few beers every day. I use to drink but I was never really big on it, and now that I'm followng this life style I just find it hard to be around all of it. Even before this I didn't really fit into the party scene... Well thanks again.
Recently one of my friends and his sister said I look really skinny. No ones ever said that to me in my life and it actually kinda hurt. It kinda makes me scared that I'm loosing to much weight. How did you gain weight on a raw food diet? Have you ever been called skinny? I'm around 6'2 - 6'3 what would be an ideal weight on 811? Before on the SAD diet I weighed 180. I know your obvisouly going to be slimmer on a diet such as 811 but I don't want to be called skinny, any thoughts, suggestions?
I live in Canada, British Columbia. Well I'm not expecting to see I quick fix because I did abuse my body badly all through high school (I'm 19) but it's just kinda shocking when you wake up the next day with more acne and weird bumps on your arm. It is actually kind of a blessing to have these skin problems, it made me look into nutrition more and then in turn read ebooks on natural acne cures and those lead me to books like the China study which made me realize how I was destroying my health. I would way rather have a mango then some candy now so thats allways good 8P. Thanks for the replies everyone I really appreciate it. Btw Aussies rock I met them through out my travels in Europe and we always got along and had a great time.
Well I have a whole bunch of fruit right now so I'll eat that all up, then I'll do a week of banana's and greens, in the form of green smoothies. Also is it ok to freeze banana's? I usually do just because I get so many of them. One more thing, I dont buy all organic fruits usually just organic greens, if there were a few fruits you'd make sure to get organic what would they be?
Well before I started 80/10/10 I was eating like crap, lots of processed foods, candy, meat, dairy, and very few vegetables and fruit. However I feel good doing 811. I've only been raw for close to 3 months, with a few slip ups here and there, but a huge difference to my previous diet. I havent been eating any fats that I know of, just fruits and veggies. Though like I said I did have lentil soup with tomatoes, celery, mushrooms, potatoes, onions, and garlic. Not sure if mushrooms have much fat in them.
So if I were to approach this again 1 week of banana's would be sufficient? When I consume greens I usually blend them with other fruits, instead of having to make a big salad (time consuming) do you guys recommend this? Also how do you approach your friends and family with this diet, my friends life style is the party life style which I've never really felt comfortable with, and my family thinks im crazy and not getting enough protein. They think I'm destroying my health. I'm trying to get them to read the China Study to hopefully make them understand and atleast be supportive. My biggest thing is the social aspect of it all, how did you guys handle it? If only I had someone to do it with. I haven't read 811, do you guys recommend ordering a copy? Well thanks for your time.
Hi everyone, I'm new here and come full of questions. So basically my motivation for going raw initially was to get rid of candida. So I read about 80/10/10 and figured it seems easy enough and it's relatively cheap considering all the herbs, and remedies talked about on the internet. Been doing 80/10/10 for basically 2 months now. I however did have cooked food occasionally, such as potatoes, and other steamed veggies. My candida related problems, mainly being skin issues (acne, keratosis pilaris) didn't really improve but didn't get worse. I also noticed that the white coating on my tounge never went away. I'd brush it off and it would come back the next day even worse. Recently I had lentil soup full of veggies and my face exploded and I got weird misquito like bumps on my arms. They didn't itch they just looked like misquito bites.
So basically could this be a sign of die off? Should I be avoiding cooked foods all together while on 811? It is discouraging because I have read posts on this site stating how easy it is to get rid of candida and that it could be done within weeks. By all means I'm not going to give up a plant based diet. I've read the China study, Eat to Live, and various articles by Dr. Graham. It all makes sense. I have many more questions but I will ask them later. Thanks for the advice.
Written and demonstrated by yogi raw-foodist Denis Korotovskikh, this booklet offers an excellent description of the Five Tibetan Rites, which are a series of exercises that originated with the ancient Tibetan monks. [Click Here to Learn More...]
