I'm sure Jen has a lot of suggestions for recycling that water.. *laughs loudly* do you have plants in the store?
I'm finding a mixture of citrus and spinach combines well. Have you had V8 juices before, a green smoothie is not dissimilar to that in taste for me, only less salty. You're a beginner here, think of GS' as baby food if that helps. A big hurdle I had when going vegan was moving away from taste and more to nutrition. I had to eat some foods and focused on their value not their taste during that transition. What you focus on is what you get..
Hi Jen, it's nice to be back, just reading and posting keeps me motivated to stay green. Yeeah, she was a thick one, I think a hammer and chisel would've been more appropriate at times!
I had one (4) for lunch today and added another cup of water, added about 12 sprinkles of vege salt and a bit more celery and it tasted how I wanted it. Using a hand mixer doesn't make it as smooth as it could be but the texture wasn't unpleasant. Tasted and felt a darn lot better though. What's raw and salty and suitable for a smoothie. I'm thinking more celery?
Hellooo me, welcome back, I'd like to see you here more often, thanks.
Today I caught up on sleep. It's going to be interesting over the next few weeks as my bride's schedule and mine slide. I wake 6am-9pm and she wakes 11am-3am or something. I ride her home from the train station at 1030pm. I have to schedule a long nap in there somewhere!
I had really bad cluster headaches last week and am freshly motivated to live better.. starting to morrow when I get paid. Man, it's been hard coming back from our honeymoon as a casual worker with no income for two weeks. Yay for wedding gifts!
Lunch bowl of curios and milk half bread roll 3 cups rice with olive oil and soy sauce
Dinner bowl of curios and milk [1,584 calories from this for the day, 9.6g fat, 318.0g carbs, 38.4g protein]
Snacks and Drinks 1 cup of green tea with LOTS of chlorophyll 1 litre of spring water throughtout the day 1 siberian ginseng tablet bowl of curios and milk
One green smoothie/slushie - half orange 1 banana 6 celery sticks half apple half cucumber half box spinach leaves half pear 3 cups water
It was so thick I had to chew it. Need more water in this AND during day. I think after 3 steins of this GS I'll be sleeping a bit less tonight (and a bit more walking 3m out my door). It took me about half an hour to down it. Needs some salt..
Jeez, you'd think the fridge is broken and I have no food in the house (all true - gah!)
Gosh, that's a lot of carbs. Good thing I finished off that damn sugary cereal!!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EXERCISE 10.4km on elliptical trainer in 30min on workout 3. Hmm.. that seems strangely far. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MOTIVATION Things have really been falling into place lately as far as goal acheivement goes. Kundalini Awakening Process by distance. Not sure if I am in but finding out it exists saving me getting into a qiqong class - a bit like learning how to ride a horse by riding a bicycle, you're still riding but it's not the same. What do I need to do to arouse my kundalini in less than 60 days?
Actually that's mostly it, lots of things have led me to it. The seminar on trading last week was interesting and opened my eyes up to some things. What do I need to know or learn to start FX trading successfully for under $100 a month!? (70% hit rate)
I'm going to drink green smoothies for breakfast, it'll be messy and fun with a hand blender. I'll be like Iron Man. I will buy spinach and celery and banana and apple and pear and orange. I'm excited and want to know how can I make it a habit?
Thanks for the pic rawgosia! It was made all the more sweet for me. It was like an exclamation point on an interesting day.
a) My wife was in a good mood *laughs* Ok that might sound bad but it really helps to be around people who are in good moods to feel good yourself - it's not a must, but it complements the process!
b) I found my raw foods book that I bought years ago and thought I left at another house.
c) I read about raw food and enlightment in abovetopsecret forum.
d) I read someone's post about enlightment in this forum and went on an information trek of sorts for the process - again, thanks rawgosia for that too.
e) I read about kundalin awakening process in taobums forum.
f) I read about kundalini awakening process by distance at another site which runs workshops on it.
g) I registered for kundalini awakening process by distance at said site.
h) I walked outside and the universe was smiling back at me.
I thought I read through all the posts before posting and am surprised only one person mentioned lentil sprouting and that sprouting has been glossed over. Soy, lentil and pea family sprouts all seem like high performing protein sources, why haven't they been mentioned more.
I'd rather start with cup of chickpea sprouts than a cup of pumpkin seeds or 30 kg's of lettuce to get my 70 odd grams. What am I not being told about legume sprouts?
I bought some raw chocolate bars last weekend at World Vegan Day in Melbourne. It's either inspiration or competition BB but either way, I agree with taking some things you make online! Sounds like you have customers lined up already.
Hi Jen, I hope that's a good thing? Isn't interesting what a difference an 'l' to a 'b' can make to someone's day
Hi RGG. Yeah, it seems like the way to go. I don't like and I think most would agree with me, being bloated from drinking too much too fast. *smiles* The pictures in my head of you dancing about security guards reminds me of a cartoon character putting flowers into gun barrels for some reason. It sounds like the only thing missing from your walk was a harp. Are you sure the leaping and running had nothing to do with needing to go the bathroom? No no, don't answer, I was being rhetorical. I don't want to know about you getting the runs at work Just kidding, it's great to read about people having lots of energy and joy in their day!
Hellooo me, welcome back.
Today I wasted 10 hours sleeping, 7 last night and 3 this afternoon. God bless our nana naps.
I weighed myself - 76.7 kg and 12.5% BF, that was a bit after dinner last night. Bed at 10pmish, awake at 430am, snooze til 540am. On Frang's advice I set up three cups the night before, so I was ready first thing. I had two cups of warm water with a squirt of lemon juice, which equalled about 500mL. Meatloaf is right, 2 out of 3 ain't bad.
..and rode to work. Vroom vroom.
FOOD
Breakfast
1 red apple
1 banana
2 green apples
1 pear
Morning Snack Leftover burger from dinner
Lunch Leftover curried vegetables from last night plus two more mushrooms
Dinner Bean curd fish & chips (I had a the battery smell trapped inside my nose since lunch - it had to be satisfied)
Snacks and Drinks
2 cups of green tea at work
1 litre of spring water throughtout the day with chlorphyll
Another chocolate bar (it's going to go straight to my thighs! *swoons*)
EXERCISE I did some ladders today and exploded through my 45 pull ups of yesterday with 7 sets of 1,2,3,4. I failed the 4th of the 7th. Which by my math, is a whopping glorious 70 pull ups. Boom chicka wah wah! MOTIVATION Instead of engaging in affirmations, I now ask myself questions. Questions demand an answer. Since it is the question that my brain may not know the answer to yet, it will search for an answer. It will send my mind in a direction. However, my questions are going to give me positive results, through positive framing. If I ask why, my brain will say because, eventually..
What new wonderful things will I discover about my world and myself tomorrow? How soon will I begin to notice with delight how happy and positive I feel from staying hydrated and eating raw? I wonder how I can help my brother-in-law take control of his life?
I'm struggling to drink so much. If I sleep in (to get more than 6 hours sleep) I have 20min or less to get ready and have breakfast. How much time do you give yourself to drink 750ml? Three cups sounds so much smaller to me than 3/4L!
I remind myself to have three big shots of water in the morning with a squeezey of lemon sneezy, sans tequila and salt. No no, I'm all about setting up the game to win, it's not lazy to make an outcome easier to reach, it's smarter *taps the side of my head* I see three glasses half full :D
Hellooo me, welcome. Exercise, diet and motivation goes here please.
Today I wasted 5 hours sleeping after frolicking in the raw pleasure forum last night catching up on the goss.
I had a fairly busy today. Bed at 12am, awake..ish around 545am. My therapist says I'm not drinking enough water, so I had a glass first thing. The garden briefly had a drink shortly after too.. I mean, not from me, well, not from well.. I know what I mean. I used the garden hose, sheesh!

EXERCISE Throughout the day I was busting out pull-ups thinking I was "Greasing the Groove". 'Pull-upsss' is what nature now whispers to me after drinking more than a litre of water at work. It's a good story to wander off to "answer the call of nature" and throw in some kind of exercise after, creepy.. but good. I've seldom had more than three cups of water in a day, excluding new years day and parties. It's not that funny that I don't have a headache and am not asleep right now. High fives to me for being hydrated.
After re-reading about ladders it's apparent I was mistaken with the technique. I did nine sets of 5 pull-ups of varying width with the special finger grip between 630 start and lunch. 45 sounded pretty good, even if it is over a day. But according to Pavel Tatsouline I should be 1,2,3,4,5, rest -> 1,2,3,4,5, rest for the desired reps building up to my sub max, which would be 5 reps if my 1rm was 7. Not, doing my sub max as often as possible (5). Today would've been 135 pullups by comparison, which is bl**dy rawesome! I'll have to drink more water though.. to explain the longer "calls". hehe. I'm becoming more vascular as the weather warms up. I will note my BW and BF in the morning. MOTIVATION I finished my day's journey with 1/2 hour of inner smiling and buddha breathing.
Ahhh.. mmm
I love you Salad Fingers. I love how you curbed your impatience shopping at Target and whilst not making Allan Pease's suggested rules known (as seen on ACA and recorded by you), you followed them internally and remained a lot calmer. I love how you looked after your body and stayed hydrated today, this helped you stay in control of your moods, not your bladder. I love how you took time out of your rigid schedule to play with your cats and fiance.
I was freaking out. I had no interwebs fix. Somehow I downloaded a terrorist and it hijacked my browser. I then downloaded a rogue antispyware program to catch it but it was just as bad. Yup, I was in my own Quantum of Solace.
Fortunately, I found how to remove both and then got carried away with adware, malware and deleted a whole heap of software, that I needed. Not that the computer knew, it was happy to connect and not actually load anything. Which they're FREAKIN' awesome at doing and equally awesome at needing to go online to tell me how to fix it.
Nontheless, I'm back and breathing slowly. New month in six mins, time for a new journal! So pre-emptive fruit punches for the first of the month to anyone else reading. See you in version 1.1.
I liked Lesson One RGG. I'm yet to read Lesson Two. Your advice is excellent and without stepping on your toes I'd like to make some suggestions for the masses.
Some ideas that may help people reading and acting on your Lesson 1: If you are unable to love yourself, love what you do.
"I love you SaladFingers, I love the way you help people every day and make them smile".
In some ways it's tricking your subconscious (where the blocks to loving yourself lie) - but don't let it know!. Start slow, write it in a journal, look up at your reflection in the mirror as you write it, say the affirmation to yourself in front of the mirror with just your lips moving, until you can whisper, talk and then say proudly. SMILE while you do this, however you do it. You will only make positive progress with positive body language.
An incantation is like an affirmation but your body is moving when you do it. It's another good start if you're uncomfortable with facing yourself in the mirror. Say your affirmation while you exercise. EG "Everyday in every way I feel myself becoming lighter and lovelier".
On a side note, Learn about Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and how tapping can help with incantations too!
Finally, practice practice practice. You get better at things by doing them. Don't expect the seed to flower overnight. RGG's lessons are like water and sunlight. Grow with her and marvel at how you bloom in time.
Hi Jen (thanks for the name change by the way). Practicing random acts of kindness and beauty eh?
Quote
Danny Wallace was bored one day, and he started a cult.
But he didn’t mean to.
On the one hand, he wondered what inspired people to join organisations and cults; on the other, he was mildly depressed by the story of a great uncle (deceased) who tried to start a cooperative movement, but failed.
Danny put an ad in the paper exhorting people to ‘Join Me’, sending in a passport photo to do so. He didn't promise anything at all, only membership of something.
To his astonishment, people joined.
He then began a website, also simply asking people to ‘Join Me’.
Suddenly, he was a Leader, with all the terrifying responsibilities of leadership and the requirement to have a vision. So Danny decided his followers (‘joinees’) would be the Karma Army.
The members of the Karma Army signed their ‘Good Fridays’ agreement, and promised to do something nice to a stranger, anonymously, every Friday.
RGG. I think a lot of people with self-esteem issues have problems accepting a compliment. As if they're undeserving of it. An alternative view from Buddha is that, if I give you a gift and you refuse it, does it not belong to me. So if you give someone a compliment and they don't accept it, then to whom does it belong. How's that for a flip side?
