Hi Carrie,

I am male, 41, and single, and I live in Perth, Western Australia.
Soon I am hoping to be 100% raw food vegan. I am not quite there yet.

Hey RawAussie and MangoMan,

So what interested u in raw foods? I'm not 100 but i try and eat as much raw food as possible. Its pretty cool having an australian based raw site, some of the other forums are good (livingfoods etc) but they are usually american-based. Music is definetly my number 1 too. 2. Sunshine 3. Family and if theres a number 4. Tropical fruit!

What kind of music are u in2 mangoman? Ive been to the gold coast and surfers but not to the sunshine coast yet. Its definetly in the better part of oz 2 live!

Hi Carrotgirl,

I became a raw food vegan because I was trying to find a healthy lifestyle for myself because I was severing from extreme obesity.

It works for me very well. I hope to be goal weight by december 2005. I will be a healthier and much fitter RawAussie by then.

hey all

I jus found this site, and yeh it is pretty choice having an Aust raw foods forum.

My brother & I started reading bout raw foods and natural nutrition 3 or 4 years ago, the more we read, the more we fine tuned our diet ect. At one stage we were really into it, and hell-bent on outliving anyone else, lol.

Nowdays, I'm 19, ryan 17, and I've moved down to wollongong, while ryans still up in Coffs Harbour finishing off yr12. I moved south to work at the steelworks, while I do uni. I lived by the beach all my life & love diving, love growing my own food & medicinal herbs, & my ultimate change of lifestyle would be to live on an island in the tropics eating coconuts & durian, in between dives... lol i'm sure i'd get sick of it. either that or live with the Hunza's, where i'd probably freeze

cheers

Hi Carrie

If you're in Adelaide, you might want to say hi to Durianrider (and his raw housemates Will and Dan) or Janita. They're all great people worth getting to know and can introduce you to a whole blossoming raw Adelaide subculture that seems to be growing.

We're looking forward to hearing about the first adelaide raw picnic sometime soon! Wink

Cheers

Hey, Adelaide...yer there seems to be more and more people doing the raw thing here. Must be the laid back energy of the area! Maybe we should all get together some time...if we can find that illusive sometime that is. Busy busy busy.

Hi everybody,

If there is going to be a picnic organised in Adelaide I would like to come.  I live at Strathalbyn but would travel to met up, I am currently going raw but finding it hard especially being very pregnant.

Hello Paquita!
There is a very in depth chapter on pregnancy and raw vegan food in Concious Eating by Gabriel Cousens. I feel this book is one of the best I've read on raw/live food, as G.C. is wholistic in his approach.
You are doing a very cool thing, very inspiring to know there are people out there thinking /living outside of the square!
Peace

thanks Dmetri and Janita,

A picnic would be great, it would be good to get the SA raw foodist together and share info and recipes etc!

Dmetri, Where did you find the Gabriel Cousens book? internet? bookshop? because I would like to read it.

Thank guys for your positive messages.

Paquita

Hi Paquita, I bought Concious Eating through the T.S. bookshop here in Adelaide. They are pretty competitively priced; paid $70 for it, Cosmic Pages wanted $89.95. I have seen it selling for even less on this website

Resonable postage and very quick delivery.
Magical weather, love the heat cheesy
