Hi Everyone,

Just wondering if anybody else has had the experience of bruising easily. I went 100% raw about 2 1/2 months ago i think and this last week I have been getting bruises all over my body....small ones and some a bit bigger. But i have about 30 or more and most i don't remember even hitting myself on anything.

Any ideas on what this may be from???

Thanks Smiley

i have noticed a few bruises myself that i am not sure where they come from and was wondering if raw food had anything to do with it. I have a bruise that is about 2-3" on the back of my calf i noticed yesterday and thought was weird, but i don't have as many as 30, i have maybe 5, but yeah i've been about as long as you, and bruises were something i've only been noticing reasonably recently. But sorry I don't have an answer for you.

From memory, your more likely to bruise if your low in iron, so perhaps try incorporating more iron rich raw foods into your diet for a while to see if that helps (parsley, brazil nuts, spinach etc etc).. perhaps try having some fresh OJ with when eating a higher iron meal (some think that vitamin c helps with iron absorption) ...
It might sound a bit random, but it might not be related to your food at all - when i first went raw (about 3 years ago) i started taking note of every stay hair in my hairbrush and bruises etc just in case they were a sign of malnutrition... but after a while it dawned on me that the amount of hair i lost a day or the amount of bruises i had were the same as before i went raw (except now my bruises and other ow-ies healed quicker and any hair i drop in a day is replaced with stronger, shinier hair)  - i was just noticing them more because now i was more in tune with my body and was more interested in what was happening to my physical self.

That being said, it wouldnt hurt to make sure your covering your bases nutritionally and if your worried perhaps drop in to your chosen naturopath/doctor etc

Hope that helped!  smiley

greens, green juice and green smoothies, should really help to remineralise and get the nutrients in...guys it takes time, after years of eating cooked or less than nutrient rich foods, for the body to detox heal and fully repair itself...patience,you are doing wonderful things for yourselves..
loads of fruit, low fats, avos, olives, greens greeens greens, few nuts and seeds if you wish...there is absolute abundance,go for it,live the high raw life,it rocks..

I bruise easily too. It has always been a problem and it is better on raw. Yet still the problem persists.
