Hello All,

I just wanted to share with all you beautiful people a new love of mine, Belle.  She is 10 weeks old and I've only had her for a few days now.  She is an Australian Stumpy Tail Cattle Dog, but she has a tail LOL.  Belle was the only one in the litter born with a tail which is not a feature coveted by the breeders of stumpy tail.  We love the tail, much to the relief of the breeder who was glad to be rid of her and tail as she is not so sellable with a tail as a Stumpy Tail Cattle Dog, but the breeder got the $$ quite happily from us.

Belle has beautiful ginger red speckled colouring and melt anyones heart soft brown puppy eyes, she is so soft and cuddly and rotound (like a koala bear), she's perfect (not bias!).  She follows me everywhere, even plants herself outside of the bathroom whilst I shower.  She is pretty clever, a Houdini in the making (every night so far she has escaped the closed off laundry and twinkled on the polished floors), the first walk I took her on was a bit of a tug.........she did not like the new collar and lead, but on the way home it was plain sailing with a very happy wagging tail.  I can (puppies are so adorable) and can't wait till she grows up so she can join me on some fair dinkum run/walks, she'd be very good company.

Training and discipline - I have already been spoken to by my better half about this (rightly so), that it is not good that he is the only one dishing it out......*wail* it is so hard to enforce anything on a baby!!!

Stay tuned for Belle's adventures, mischief and exploits!

Warmly,
Blue Nelly

all animals I love but especialy dogs - I have two of them. A cross mini schnauzer / Bishon Friese (named Shaggy) and a cross maltese / schitzu (named Zoey). Before these two I had only ever had big dogs - shepherds, labradors etc but they are gorgeous and yes mischevious they can be can't they. I hope Belle brings you many happy days.

Oh Blue Nelly, lucky you! This will be the start of a long love affair for both of you. I love dogs (well I love all animals, but I LOVE dogs).

Enjoy the delight that a new puppy brings. Would love to hear more about Belle, she sounds beautiful! I haven't met a stumpy-tail before.

Hi Blue Nelly, Belle might do better with a harness or a nose lead.
As she is only a baby and allowed to tinkle wherever she likes.

Squidly, your two dogs sound very cute!  I can tell by your tone you have much appreciation for dogs and like me smile and enjoy heartily their antics.  Please share their funny mischief with us!  Thank you for your lovely wishes sent to Belle and I.

CG, I've raced out to get some film for the photographs, I don't want to miss her baby days (now I am probably sounding eccentric to some, but you dog lovers understand don't you???).  Once developed I'll share the cuteness.  Have you a pet CG, I think you'd make a good owner/mistress, in fact I think your very capable of spoiling some lucky little critter.

Miss M, ahhhh a self confessed dog lover!  You and I are of the same ilk girl!  I once had on my resume under interests and sport that  I love dogs!  cheesy Do you think that might have been taking it too far?  Up until now I have been satisfying myself with being a surrogate mother to my parent's dogs and neighbour's dogs (one day I'll share a story of a neighbour's dog Joe, funny!) now I have my very own to spoil.

Joss, I'm totally with you on the baby twinkle views.  I've found some literature on the subject that has offered good guidance and have shared this with Marty and we are rewarding and praising Belle for her twinkles and no. 2's outside.

Now I did promise to keep ya's updated with Belle's exploits......I shared one with her recently.

Belle attempted to go down the two storey stairs at my parents place recently and made it a third way down before crouching and whimpering and edging towards the left without railing protection that threatened a nasty fall.

*Blue Nelly to the rescue* I ran down the stairs to save her but it turned into fell down the stairs whilst saving her (was lucky I didn't take her out with me!).  My poor mum who witnessed the event was shrieking and shook up about her baby's fall didn't appreciate or commend the save (funny that).  Now I am sporting some killer bruises that any guy would be proud of, bruises get attention! (attention is good  cheesy)

For all concerned I'm fine, just enjoying the attention whilst it's there  cheesy,

Nelly do not let your little one go up and down steps yet. Her spine is not mature enough yet and at least she could suffer from a slipped disc that may cause her problems for the rest of her life. Some breeds like daschunds should always be carried up stairs.

Hey Blue Nelly, Ive got a Stumpy Tailed Blue Heeler x Kelpie. My partner and I weren't sure if there really was such a breed, cos our dog Drive loks like a Staffy. His stump is so funny when he tries to wag it as his whole bum wobbles. Haha my lady loves it.

Hope Belle brings you much happiness.

Hey TT!!!

A Stumpy Tailed Blue Heeler x Kelpie is a really nice combo, with an emphasis on intelligent and PLAYFUL I imagine Smiley  Drive would crack me up too with his bum wobbles, his happiness would be infectious!  If you can post a picture of Drive I'd love to see him.  Thanks  for your sincere and nice wish for Belle and I, sending the same right back at ya  smiley.

Warmly,
Blue Nelly
