I've had fibrocystic breast disease for many years now. Lots of weird lumpy tissue all through my breasts. Has sometimes flared up and actually got infected and put in me in hospital, ugh. Nightmare for breast examinations too (it's very hard to detect cancerous abnormalities amongst all those other lumps).

Today (nearly 3 weeks raw), I noticed that for the first time EVER there are no lumps in my breasts! Huh?! This was so strange. I've been so used to living with this condition. This has never happened, there's always been varying degrees of extreme lumpiness at all stages of my cycle. I keep wanting to feel them to make sure this is for sure LOL.

Looks like I can add this, along with lovely skin and no more colitis symptoms, to the raw success list. I can't believe how quickly all this has happened! I haven't even completely given up coffee yet (that comes tomorrow... urgh). Every time something like this happens it turns me off the idea of going back.

Wow!  Miss M, that is just such fantastic news.

Do the coffee thing as slowly or as quickly as feels right.  Switch to decaf first if it helps, or replace with tea.  Or if you're drinking more than one a day, cut down to one. Whatever feels right.

miss g

p.s. Go crazy on the breast feeling tonight, in your own home, otherwise you'll have to duck behind the display of tinned peaches at the supermarket.  cheesy

WOW Miss Manda - Congratulations... like Miss Giggles I too had an image of your out shopping and unable to resist! It could be an interesting opening line for telling people about raw! I can only imagine your elation after years of having the lumps to find them gone!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! And keep it up!

believe it girl believe it! so awesome isn't it the healing power of raw and green smoothies..i am so very pleased for you..

after years of cystic lumps in my breasts..i no longer have a single lump, previous to raw,i was even getting painful lumps in my lympathics (in groin area)-doc thought i had cancer of the lymph, all gone now thanks to raw,no more IBS,colitis, chronic fatigue, acne, pmt, heavy menses, nasty hormonal imbalances, mood swings, anxiety, depression, suicidal tendencies,i no longer menstruate, but i ovulate, and feel on an even keel emotionally and mentally..no more ovarian cysts, cancer of the cervix, excessive blinking of the eyes, blurry vision,insomnia...oh the list is long-free of all disease really..diseases that no doctor could ever help me with, without adding more toxins and dis-ease to my body..even my digestion is strengthening, out of sight with gs drinking..no more nearly blacking out,and dizzyness...

raw is so exciting, thrills us to the core, esp after many years of suffering with bad health..

Ah Neet, you're an inspiration and a walking credit to the raw lifestyle! Your posts, Sheryl's and others, testify to the radically health-altering benefits of this diet.

Miss G - thank you for the coffee withdrawal advice. Over the last few weeks I had cut back down to just one cup a day, plus a few cups of tea. That reduction alone gave me headaches and made me tired/groggy, so I was dreading the final plunge, which I've taken today (I have this week off work so it is the ideal time). And...

I feel AWFUL! Woke up at the usual time this morning, and made a peppermint tea (don't want to replace the coffee habit with regular tea if I can help it). Without my normal morning brew I soon fell back to sleep for a couple more hours. Got up, had a green smoothie and some fruit, but was still very tired and groggy. Went back to bed with a book, but my vision was too blurry to read it, so I fell asleep again. The next time I woke up I was more alert, but very headachey and a bit nauseous. Not a full-blown migraine yet thank god. I don't have the energy to do anything, and it isn't great on my head looking at either a book or this computer screen. Might dig out a DVD and try that - if I sleep again am worried I'll be up all night. Seems a shame to be wasting precious time off work feeling this bad, but there's no way I could function in my job feeling like this (I couldn't even manage the 25 mins walk to work, and driving in this state would be plain stupid!). I know when this is over though a whole new world of stimulant free energy awaits me though!

Miss Manda,

This time off work is your gift from the universe to go through all of this healing.

Resting is sometimes underrated in the healing department.  It is powerful.  Do as much as you need.  Give yourself permission to 'lay like broccoli' and veg out.

Drink lots and lots of water.  Water in itself is another powerful healer.  You can heal physical pain by hydrating your body.

Remember, that these yucky detox symptoms will pass (as all things).

Soon, you will be out the other side and feeling spritely again.  Then, you can reward yourself with something special - like a lovely massage or facial or similar.

Go gently,
miss g

Thanks Miss G & 21 Carrot Girl! I rested all yesterday, went to bed at 8pm and got up at 8am (!!!), feel pretty good today. Headache and nausea are gone. Don't feel like running any marathons yet but after my morning green smoothie I might take a little stroll around the block and see if the fresh air perks me up. I may just salvage some enjoyment out of the rest of the week off yet!

Hey Cee, that's great to hear and so encouraging. Isn't it amazing how similar complaints lead people to raw, where they find such good results? To be honest, I'd pushed the FBD to the back of my mind (except during extreme flareups). At my (very holistic) GP's recommendation I'd just been taking Vitamin B6 for it, and had no flareups since doing that. I came to raw for other reasons posted elsewhere on this board, the relief of FBD was just a pleasantly surprising side benefit.

BTW, saw my lovely GP for some regular women's health checks last week. He was amazed to find no FBD. I told him I'd noticed it disappear since I'd been basing my diet on raw fruits and vegetables. He said that this was a great thing to be doing and keep it up, he was quite excited. He said all the natural B vitamins would have helped the FBD (incidently, I'd ceased all vitamin supplements well prior to this checkup (bar B12 and vegetarian glucosamine for my busted up knees)).

My GP's so supportive of my lifestyle choices - when I first saw him some time ago and told him I was a vegan, I awaited for the usual panicked lecture and sending off for blood tests. He just said 'that's excellent, and you're still alive unlike what most people think, hehehe'. Now that I'm raw and healthy, I'll probably be seeing him a lot less, which is a shame in a very good way  cheesy

Speaking of medical matters, how are your skin cancers going Cee? Have you got them all sorted? Sorry not to help with the Ali Yoga video question, I've not seen them. Hope someone replies.
