Please tell me that beetroot leaves are edible??  I thought I'd read it was OK somewhere and have made this smoothie with bananas, celery, lettuce and beetroot leaves which I am currently drinking (looks like a chocolate milkshake only crunchy!)... so hope its OK? rolleyes I s'pose time will tell...

Anyone know of the iron content of beetroot leaves?

you will really enjoy Victoria green for life book, all the relevent info is in it,that you're asking about...beetroot leaves are good, but CRUNCHY in the gs,smooth is so much nicer, and will digest better, but whatever you enjoy..one of my friends that makes gs,makes it quite lumpy,i can't stand it,but she loves it..each to there own *grin*

Thanks Neet!  It actually tastes like a chocolate smoothie, sort of  cheesy I don't mind the crunchiness - our blender's not the best so I'm used to it!  I'm on the waiting list for VB's Green for Life through the RP shop - can't wait to get my copy and devour it!

I've eaten beet root leaves my entire life!! I'm still here. I imagine they would be quite high in iron.

1 cup (38 g) has 5% of the RDA for iron according to:

Enjoy!
