One warning though - buy Australian garlic. All garlic imported from China is irradiated before leaving China (irradiation is not currently allowed in Australia but is allowed for imports). That's why the packets of garlic from China (often in plastic mesh bags) tend to go mouldy and almost fade away; whereas Australian garlic will go mouldy if kept too long. The Australian garlic is still alive - the Chinese stuff isn't.

Organic garlic is worth paying a few extra cents!
