I am looking for recipes that do not contain nuts. I love the look of many of the recipes posted here and read down the list of ingredients and find that most contain a lot of nuts. I would love some quick pudding recipes that are easy to make.

I woiuld love any low fat recipes, not just puddings.

Cheers, Joss

yay,JOSS,you just know i am happy to help out on this thread...i look through recipes, then see the nuts, and go wellll,....next...so this is a topic close to my heart or stomach lol...*grin*

i will start off with a wonderful juice...this happens to also be wonderful for a headache..

pineapple
strawberrie
so divine..

pudding ideas
papaya
banana
blend and stir through a passionfruit

rockmelon blended-enjoy same goes for watermelon

banana
blended with
celery and stir through some blueberries

crack open a brand new in season watermelon and devour..too good i tell you!!

lettuce or chinese cabbage wraps
tomatos chopped finely
cucumber "             "
ruby red grapefruit as above
corn
little avo stir through so avo softens and blends in a little with the other ingredients or do as i did last night, stir with my hands, then lick fingers slurp mmmm, slurp you get the picture..
can add a squeeze of fresh orange juice..then place into lettuce or cabbage leaves roll up and enjoy, messy but so fabulous..

another version of lettuce wraps
cauliflower process in food processor til it resembles rice, add some chia too it and allow to set and become sticky consistency..add finely chopped spring onion or leek, grated carrot, finely chopped celery and either fresh parsley or coriander or dill..mix together and roll up in lettuce..you could stuff peppers with this mix too, even 1/2 an avo, take out the flesh cut up and add to the cauli mix and put back into avo shell, and eat with a spoon..

soak seeded raisins for 24 hours..drain
add to chopped cabbage
celery
corn
cucumber
mix and add fresh ojuice.

a bowl full of tomatos, chop and devour...or add to the toms, few peruvian sundried olives, halved and a pesto made of basil,2 fresh dates and handful of baby spinach and juice from 1 orange...now that sounds wicked...

i like to make up recipes constantly..it is fun,low fat and food that fills you with vitality...i love my food...

Hi... Already such great ideas posted...

*For puddings... bananas are a great base to make lowfat flavors.  As you probably know frozen bananas are a great way to make lowfat 'icecream' and you can add in carob or fruits to vary flavors.

*Raw soups are often lowfat and delicious.  There are a lot of recipes around if you search the internet under 'raw recipes'.
*Green smoothies are a great choice too.  This site has a great selection of green smoothie ideas and recipes!
*Lettuce wraps are a great choice too... I add a variety of veggie and fruit fillings... and make various salsa combos... and add in sprouts... there are all kinds of ways to make great wraps and keep them lowfat.

I find lowfat salad dressings to be helpful.  Salads can be flavorful by adding different veggies and fruits.  Different salad dressings helps keep it fun and interesting.  Here are some recipes for that.   You can be creative and try all kinds of combinations of your own...

LOWFAT OR FATFREE DRESSINGS:
*With these dressings if you're using a regular blender, grate or chop the veggies so they blend easier.  That isn't needed if using a Vitamix.
*I use a variety of vinegars but, you can substitute raw apple cider vinegar.  Also, you can easily make flavored vinegars using herbs and fruits.
*You can substitute raw mustard (you make) for these recipes.
*There are a few ingredients (not raw) that may not fit your raw preferences... but I am including them for those they may work for.
*You can add water or juice to thin the recipes if needed.
*You can add fruit or veggies (puree them) to thicken salad dressings.
*These are basic recipes... you can add any seasonings or herbs to suit your taste preferences.
*It is best to make the dressings ahead of time and let the flavors blend.

1/2 red onion
1 sweet red bell pepper

1/2 C water
2 Tbl rice vinegar

dash cayenne
*Puree smooth...

*Whisk or shake in jar
VARIATIONS: (just add to basic recipe)
ITALIAN: 1 1/2 tsp oregano, 1 tsp basil, 1 tsp tarragon (all dried, crushed)
TARRAGON: 1 1/2 tsp tarragon dried, crushed
CUMIN: 1/4 tsp cumin

AVOCADO SPINACH: (from book Rainbow Green Live-Food Cuisine)
1 large avacado
2 C spinach chopped
1/2 apple
1 tsp cayenne
1 tsp celtic salt
water for consistency
*Puree till smooth and creamy

CREAMY ZUCCHINI: (from book Rainbow Green Live-Food Cuisine)
2 C zucchini chopped
1 Tbl raw apple cider vinegar
1 Tbl olive oil
1 Tbl Italian seasoning
1 tsp celtic salt
*Puree till smooth and creamy

***Juices are a great base for salad dressings.  You can make a great juice combination and add in some seasonings... then put in spray bottle and just spray your salad.

***I often just stand at the Vitamix making dressings... adding in veggies, fruits, seasonings etc.  It is fun to create and to have a variety of tastes... keeps salads interesting.

Star you are indeed a star. Dressings are my downfall and I struggle to make a good one. Everyone always asks about raw salad dressing when first going raw.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post these.

Neet everything sounds great. Thank you too.

my pleasure JOSS and TRACEY...i love constantly making up new simple recipe ideas...it is a passion what can i say...raw food is as exciting as we want to make it hey??

STAR,you are a star, thank you for your awesome recipes....don't know if you are aware..Braggs aminos isn't a raw food...but i think the noma shoyu is??think rp sells it here, and it is classed as raw...even though, most of us i believe have used it when transitioning from cooked to raw,i know i used it,unaware of what it was,and i leapt 100% from cooked to raw overnight...

Thanks All...

That is great you went 100% so quickly!  And, you have such great raw recipes and ideas too!

Just checked... Nama Shoyu is raw.

I am close to 100%... I do choose some other things when, it has to do with flavor... things like flavored vinegars, wasabi powder, miso, mustards, horseradish, green chilies... and such.   It helps me enjoy raw even more... and stay the course.

I do have some raw condiment recipes I'll post later... just in case there are some that don't have recipes for that... and might enjoy them...

Star I saved your recipes to a file on my computer so that I can find them easily when I want to use them.

I made a reasonable dressing the other day with sundried tomatoes, tomatoes and 2 teaspoons of almond butter. It was ok, but lacked the bite I like in dressings.

Here's the salad Piers and I are having for dinner tonight...

2 ears corn, kernals cut off
1/2 punnet cherry tomatoes, cut in half
1 stick celery, sliced on the vslicer
2 carrot (big), sliced on the vslicer
1 punnet strawberries, chopped
1 bunch corriander/cilantro, chopped (leaves only)
1 small bunch asian greens, chopped
6 Moroccan olives, chopped
1 avocado, chopped
1 lime, juice squeezed on
Splash or two of olive water

This salad is DIVINE!!! It may look complicated, but in reality it was 3-4 minutes of "What looks good tonight" followed by some quick chopping. Only one mixing bowl, two small bowls and a knife to clean up. I love nights like this.

don't know what to call this,...made this today for dinner tonight..and it totally rocked my world...

1/2 head of large cauliflower put into food processor with s blade and blend til quite fine..
put into large bowl
add 5 tablespoons of chia seeds, stir through
grate 2 large carrots
pit 10 sundried peruvian raw olives(as in just dry,not in liquid or salt),put into food processor, add large handful of parsley and 2 sml cloves of garlic..blend til quite fine.
stir through other ingredients..add 5 medium sized tomatos chopped fairly finely..
add one leek sliced finely
stir through juice from 1 orange, and half a lemon..
i had heaps of time to make this,so i let it sit for 5 hours...and it quietly marinated in the warm room..(an hour would suffice i think)
spooned mixture into lettuce leaves, added slices of avo and rolled up.devoured and completely blissed out...

don't normally make such fussy food, but this was so totally worth the fiddle...it is delicious...nearly ate all of hubby's too,so had to slice him up more salad ingredients so he didn't miss out*grin*...gave my girlfriend a large container of this for her dinner too...she wrapped it in lettuce and said it was amazing...

hey maybe i should write a low fat,no nuts recipe book..Joss,what you think??lol...

Something I made the other day that reminded me of pizza/pasta sauce, the capsicum is the magic ingredient.

1 large ripe red capsicum
1-2 TBS dulse flakes
1 clove garlic
2 tomatoes
2 sticks celery
Half bunch of chives
Juice of 2 lemons
1 TBS coconut oil

Blend untill smooth and serve over zuchini pasta or fill lettuce cups with chopped salad and pour over as thick dressing, or just eat it as a dip.  It sounds simple but the combination is pure alchemy, at least it was to me!
