Awww, thanks neet and Joss - neet, your new pic is stunning too, as always! My kitty truly is a beautiful girl - she is sitting on my lap as I type this, purring softly! Such a change from the scared, shy girl I adopted from the RSPCA two years ago... And yes, only 6 days till my birthday! But there is something happening this weekend, mum and dad have a surprise planned and mum is so excited! I'm totally clueless, can't wait to find out...

Harley, i'll have to try this w/the celery... made it for my parents the other night and my mother said it was too sweet. lol
perhaps the celery will tart it up a bit.
oh, how was your trip?

back to the topic... i found it lovely to omit much of the water and blend the grapes to a liquid then add greens.
still on my bebe romaine kick... mmm

still on my bebe romaine kick

is this pronounced ro-ma-ne or ro-maine ?
is this an american term or just a variety i'm not familiar with

made a 1/2 jug green lettuce, 1 1/2 cups water, cup strawberry , 2 bananas

the lettuce started out a beautiful green, then it all turned brown when the fruit mixed in
how many gs's turn brown ?

Agreed Neet, I did the strawb thing the other day and wasn't happy with my brown sludge smoothie at all! StaNagle, go for paw paw, peach, mango to get a stunning bright green smoothie!

ok, most of my efforts have had strawberries

I just nailed my first dark green gs, had the family with wrinkle inducing winces all round

half a blender of spinach, 3 nanas, 3 dates, 2 cups water
now i'm on my gs way

i, too, love the bright green gs but i'm not completely turned off by the sludgey looking ones.
gs that are bright green or deep purple are my favorites, esthetically, but i've had some rather scrummy ones that have looked less than appealing!
my boys even prefer the brighter green ones to the sludey ones... when they're willing to consume something green anyway. lol

If you use strawberries you can blend those first and pour into a glass. After that mix the rest and pour it slowly on top of the strawberry. The green will sit nicely on top of the red.
