so 13th october 2006 , shortly after being 100% raw for one year, im commencing my nuts and seed free period.

i will update my progress every few weeks.

this is to give my liver a good solid cleanse so i can really pick up my ultra endurance adventures to the next level.

nuts and seeds are amazing foods. i still recommend them highly. they have served their purpose for me on to the raw path. now its time to set up another sail and catch the winds of fruits and veg and sail accross the seas of intensity to new found island paradises...

i expect calm glass oceans, followed by massive storms that will test my conviction to the core. the conditions may get more adverse but ive obtained the skills to deal with em.

"every disciplined effort is met with multiple reward"

happieness comes when we push ourselves to our distant reaches. the days we remember most are the ones where we bite off more than we can chew and survive it!

my most memorable rides and the ones im most proud of is the ones i rode till i cried and kept going. the ones where i didnt know how i was going to get home, but i made it. the ones where people whom didnt know me personally actually doubted it was possible to cycle that far.

its time for me to 'un' chew the fat.

shift up into 6th gear and rail the fast lane for while.

Best of luck Harley. To me it seems that every raw food recipe has masses of nuts and seeds.

like the person whom has only one lung or kidney. the body adapts if we give the chance.

many recipies have nuts and seeds, but now i will see and taste thousands more that dont.

Hi Guys  smiley

Im with you two, been off the nuts and seeds for 6months and haven't felt better!

My probation was a lot shorter than yours H, one month!!!.....felt so good i haven't bothered to reintroduce them, i love feeling great!.....they don't seem to do that for me. The humble avocado and the exotic coconut give me my fat fixes!

H, just stay away from Crackers and you'll breeze it in!

Happy times on the fast lane of life.....just don't forget to slow down and smell the roses....oh i mean fruits!!

Looking forward to hearing how you go and some of the substitutes you come up with!!

Hi all,

I am finding lately that I can handle seeds such as sunflower, linseeds, sesame, and tahini in average doses but I know if I've had too much, my digestive system feels clogged and bloated for hours after. If I eat nuts I feel worse mind you sometimes I can eat one, maybe two nut balls. It's just easier not to eat them. I do eat them on occasion though just b'cos I know I like them but I'm not as hung on them as I used to be and will give my dessert piece to hubby often now too.
I thought all this was maybe a season change, you know, summer and all you tend towards lighter foods?
Well, this is me anyhow smiley

good for you.

the more we listen to our body the more it listens to us.

i choose foods that i love. and foods that love me.

and its come down to raw plant food.

i will let my body decide what it wants this time next year.

eat what you love and what loves you back.

too easy!
