Thanks RP for introducing flax seed crackers to my diet !!

http://www.guardian.co.uk/food/Story/0,,1924088,00.html

For Hibbeln, the changes in our diet in the past century are "a very large uncontrolled experiment that may have contributed to the societal burden of aggression, depression and cardiovascular death". To ask whether we have enough evidence to change diets is to put the question the wrong way round. Whoever said it was safe to change them so radically in the first place?

So true. Last night on the history Channel I watched Modern Marvels and it was about the way snack foods are produced in their millions for the American market. These foods have made it possible to carry many snacks in a pocket or handbag. The machines are so fast, the eye cannot keep up with them. As one worker said, everytime we think we cannot get any faster machines, they come up with new ones that are even faster.

Most of the candy are still made from the original recipes brought to America by emigrants from Europe. Only theirs were made in small kitchens and sold door-to-door. Now machine turn out over 1,000,000 pieces of candy per hour. It was fascinating and frightening at the same time.

i know personally that if i overeat,or eat poor food combinations,i get irritable,so it is easy to see the link between violence and cooked junky  food....then if you add alcohol drugs and cigarettes no exercise into the mix, well meat head aggression and violence isn't too far of a leap is it?

Hi guys, I've lost the original thread I was going to post in, but at least the heading of this one seems  semi relevant.. not meaning to be hijacking  Angel

The other one was about feeding kids junk, and E282 was mentioned (linked to hyperactivity/ADD in kids). Unfortunately more and more cooked food, including junk, has been includided in my 2 year old daughter's diet, and these days it seems she just doesn't want anything healthy. I'm positive I can see her mood change after eating wheat in particular, and definitely after having her dad's bread (which does have the 282). He, - her dad that is-, believes I'm over-protective and way too extreme in my views on diet. I guess I can't really blame him as I've had a really hard time trying to get back to raw eating myself these days, and with the guilt and stress (and, possibly a good dash of pregnancy hormones) I have done more and more bad choices for myself too... Anyway, I'm after any INFORMATION, particularly about the 282. Have to start somewhere, and I feel the grains are a big deal for her digestion (which is significantly worse than it used to be). It has to be fairly well documented though for her dad to even consider looking at it...

I'll see if I can find the post on raw documentaries too and ask somebody there. Perhaps a movie will help.

Wish me luck, please Smiley However unproductive it is, I am very disappointed in myself for not managing to do what I know is best for my little girl. Ahhh, she's so pale and has even got bad breath, and she would happily sit still most of the day if she was entertained or had (cooked!) food in front of her! And she used to be such a big baby, now she's in the low 25%, with low muscle tone too.

Ok, I'm off the computer, dragging her to the playground yahh
She does love it once we're there Smiley
