I seem to remember Sheryl mentioned something recently about not putting fat/oil into gs??

I've heard some people grind up linseed and put it in gs...would putting just linseed oil in be OK?

Fruits and fats dont mix!  For proper food combining, its best to eat fruit alone or with greens/celery.

I like to keep just fresh fruit and greens in my smoothies, nothing else.

If I feel I need a bit of flaxseed oil, coconut oil, LSA, tahini or whatever..  I will put it in a nutmilk instead.

As Jen said it's probably best to go one of two directions for smoothies

1) Greens + fruit (sweet green smoothies)
OR
2) Greens + fat (raw soups).

Both work well and are yummy!

Interesting to note that a study released today found that adding 3+ servings of vegetables a day was highly correlated to delay of any mental deficits in old age, and fruit was not. Likely due to extra minerals! Go salads, green smoothie and raw soups!

Cheers,
Sheryl

Greens & seaweed, rawgreengoddess? Sounds extremely healthy!  What do you actually mix up?

hey sheryl,

I think the article you're talking about is the same one that my husband mentioned to me.  I made a similar comment, saying that fruits should be able to help out too, but he said that it was because they were only pinpointing vegetables in this particular study.  I think it's great that something like this is out there.  better than pushing lean beef and other types of recommended foods.
