Opps..... we seem to have misdirected you to the wrong recipe!

Or continue on to read the FABULOUS Pecan Pie Recipe!

This recipe is reproduced from the fabulous new book 'Living on Live Food' with permission from the author Alissa Cohen.

"You'll be winning your guest over with this luscious pie! Looking at the ingredients, it's easy to see why this is a very sweet and rich dessert, so I save this one for special occasions.

Crust:
2 cups pecans
1/2 cup dates, pitted and soaked
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon vanilla

Filling:
1 1/2 cups dates, pitted and soaked
1/2 cup pecans
1/3 cup honey*
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 macadamia nuts
1/2 cup water

Topping:
1 cup pecans

-----------

For Crust:
1. Blend pecans in a food processor until fine.
2. Add remaining ingredients and blend until smooth.
3. Remove from processor and pat down into a pie plate.

For Filling:
1. Place pecans in a food processor and blend until smooth.
2. Add in the remaining ingredients and blend until creamy.
3. Pour filling into pie crust.
* We used agave nectar instead

Topping:
1. Place pecans decoratively on top of filling."

Just thought you might all like to know that we're making this one *right now* to bring to our Febuary Raw Food Picnic Meetup tomorrow! There's also word that a good friend of ours Adrian is bringing some raw brownies that are apparently to live for!

Looking forward to seeing all you Brisabanites tomorrow! at Northey St! Be there, or be hungry! Wink

And I even bought a REAL vanilla bean this time... last time I made it we didn't have one... and it was still DELICIOUS! This is a highly recommended pie for guests who aren't familiar with raw food - they just won't believe something this magnificent is even possible!

... or just for you! I'm sure it would freeze well too.
