Hi all,

Please if anyone has any experience with Glandular Fever please let me know. My cousin has it, and I found out last night that my friend who I was helping in WA with raw food has been diognosed with it too. Good news, she's lost 9kgs and still wants to keep going with raw food. So any ideas would be most appreciated!

FYI some of you may know this better as ‘kissing disease’ or infectious mononucleosis.

From what I've seen there is no medical treatment given to people with mono. Really anything they can do to help their body heal is optimal. Eating better, lots of rest, good water and sunshine are a good start for anyone needing to rest their body. One site suggested avoiding alcohol if there were signs of hepatitis! I would suggest avoiding all alcohol and caffeine all the time for everyone!!

Best wishes for a healthy and fast recovery for them.

i used to suffer from that terribly. almost forgot! lol!

yet to meet a long time low fat raw vegan exerciser whom sleeps enough, rests enough, stressed managed, lives in a positive realm, enjoys great relationships etc with glandular issues. or any other serious health concern.

whenever ill people ask me for health advice, images of their sleep patterns, drinking water, fridge instantly enter my mind.

no magic pill, bullet etc, just a magic process.

Lou,

How is your cousin and friend coping with mono?  I had it in college.  since it's viral, you can't take anything for it (ie, antibiotics), so the best bet is to rest, drink lots of fluids, and rest some more.  i think when you overrun yourself, you become susceptible to something like mono (or any other diseases for that matter).  encourage them to drink lots of water, freshly made juices, and tons of sleep, and lots of raw fruits and veggies.

Thanks Sandy,

I think they are both doing better. Thanks for the reminder...I need to check up with them and see how they are both going. I think they both know what to do, it's just a matter of doing it Smiley
