That smoothie sounds delish..

So will you carry your blender around with you then?
I have been trying to decide whether to take my handblender (and big plastic smoothie container) with me to SE Asia....and think i will, life with a blender is so much easier! Handblenders have got to be one of the best inventions ever.
I bought a plug adaptor the other day so hopefully will work okay..

oh you've got to try durian & cane juice.. it's absolutely the most euphoria-inducing blend ever!
it was a mad-scientist moment for me. i was laughing maniacally and everything.

i did it while in sydney.. the fusion of the king and the cane.. my two top foods..
creamy.. super sweet.. endorphin thumping madness..

i called it "king cane kabam"

i was tripping all day ^__^

I think it was more than a day, Mr Cane Tripper!  Days after your return from Sydney, when you came by here, you were still laughing maniacally...King Cane Kabam!

On a more serious note...Somers, would you please elaborate on the hand blenders?  I am most interested...thanks!  If you don't see this thread I will ask you again in the Raw Chat forum... Smiley

Cool Jen, I will definitely take mine then Smiley

Miss Bliss - hand stick blenders are the ones that are like a stick that you hold onto and they have a spinning blade on the end. So you just dip it into your bowl/GS container, etc and press the button, stir it around, and it blends everything up. And the best bit is that to wash it you just give it a good rinse under the tap (or sponge with detergent if the mixture was sticky), so easy. I was stoked to discover them, makes whipping up smoothies and soups so much quicker and easier. Not sure if they blend stuff as finely and smoothly as the high-powered blenders though. I think the one i use cost around $50 from Myer, though you can probably get them from BigW, Target etc too. Let me know if you need any more info Smiley

We tend to make sure we have one where we are too. Once I have to admit we traveled overseas with our Vitamix for three weeks in Canada! *grin*

haha Smiley Seems to be an essential travelling item then for raw foodies. We'd have to spend half our travelling time munching down salads otherwise Smiley Not being able to have GS would be hard!

Maybe you could stock handblenders in the Raw Pleasure store Sheryl?

Thanks Somers... they are already available everywhere!! We try to find the interesting and hard to find items for raw foodists. Things like hand blenders, spice grinders etc are all easy to find at just about any big kitchen shop or Myers/Kmart etc. Thank you for thinking of us though.

Cheers,
Sheryl

Hey Gorgeous 'Giggling Gerty' Wink I know your real name harr harr ha haaaaaaaahhhhh....  :D

Thank you so much!!!  By the essence of Love and Bliss, I am sure I would provide the best bench spaces and a place of pride in my travelling wagon or sailing vessel home, if only I had the essential factor of 240V!!  I had my own blinkers on...Jeesh....and thought "hand" blender was something that is FULLY POWERED BY HAND!!!  like a hand cranking wheatgrass juicer type thingy....

doh....me and my tendencies to think of self sustainability options...

Can any one help with this idea though...

Miss Hopeful,

Online camping supply shops do sell hand powered blenders. I have seem them and thought about them for gifts... never actually tried one though! We bought my father in law a hand powered radio one year for Christmas.
