Hello dear friends in Australia,

i'm writing you to ask what do you know about Organic Carob Powder that you can found in Organic Stores?
Do you know if it's raw or has been roasted? How can i found out? I'm on a juice, smoothie fast and use Organic Powder to add Flavour to my smoothies. It tastes quiet good but i never tried RAW Carob Powder because it is not so easy to found on travel.

Raw Regards,
Ivan

Hey Ivan, perhaps try the raw cacoa powder instead, that's easier to access from raw sites...and tasty too.Have never found a raw carob powder in mainstream health food stores..luck..

Ivan, I have been ale to find both raw and roasted carob here in Canada. The (mainly) organic food co-op I shop at carries both.  When I did not yet know about the raw food diet I used to use the roasted carob and found it took a little while to get used to the more subtle flavour of the raw carob, but now I love it!

Don't give up your search, surely you will find it.

Carob powder is always roasted unless it's special raw carob powder. It's very hard to get so fine, and high temperatures are part of how they grind it so fine. That's one reason why you'll see that really raw carob powder is quite coarse compared to the normal stuff.

Ivan what countries are you looking for it in? In know in Canada and USA it's quite common at the better health food stores. Even the Big Carrot (my favourite health food store in Toronto) carries it!

We usually have it in Australia but have just sold out.

Cheers,
Sheryl

Hello and thanks to everyone,

i'm here in Australia since tree weeks and in Cairns Area now where i work for the Mango Season (in Mareeba). I get the answer about Carob Powder in a Health Store in the Central Shopping Centre of Cairns where i could find the roasted, cheap and common and the raw, more expensive and imported Carob Powder. I didn't buy at least nothing but will try further the raw one certainly. I have been in the Rusty Market and it was very great like in a Living Food Paradise! Thanks Australia...
