I'm heading over to Bangkok, Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos in November and was wondering if anyone knows of any raw food contacts, raw-friendly places to visit or stay at, organic farms, organic markets etc in SE Asia??

Thanks to Harley i now know about Bangkok's Rasayana Raw Cafe, and of an organic mulberry farm in Laos, but just thought i'd see if anyone knew of any more....

i know of organic farms but they didnt have email and i dont know the addresses but i do know how to get there.. chantaburi thailand is durian capital of the world but im not sure what varieties are growing that time. or if they are hormone free at that time.

either way there will be some amazing fruits, cane juice and young coco's. i go during peak fruit season. late april to september.

Hi Somers

I did Cambodia, Vietnam and Thailand this past Winter. I found Vietnam particularly easy to get lots of raw (especially Hanoi).. fresh sugarcane juice stalls everywhere (best with a squeeze of lime) and lots of fabulous fruit.
Any of the markets in Thailand, Cambodia or Vietnam (even the really touristy ones) have a fresh fruit section. Fruit is a bit more available than vegies - but the vegies are still around. If you get to know the locals and ask where they buy their fruit and veg you get to see some amazing little markets that others wouldn't. I stayed wiht a family in Cambodia and the mum took me to market each morning... everyone was so keen to get you to try their wares... so educational.
If you can learn a few basic words for fruit and vegetables, you'll go a long way.
A kilo of rumbutans, logans or lychees for 50cAUD, mangoes for $2.50AUD a kilo. Yum Yum. Saw the most durian in Thailand...

I will be in Bangkok in January and will be heading to the raw food cafe too! Can't wait....

Enjoy!
