It's a powder, a little flaky, and has quite a creamy taste when added to smoothies. We have a bottle in the cupboard and they last us over a year (they go down faster when Harley is here!).

Tocotreionols are a raw form of the fats in rice bran. We had some customers who really wanted them, so brought them in (just a small quantity). The people that love them use them regularly though. At RP we use it as an occasional addition to a smoothie, as a texture/taste thing. Not really as a 'supplement' if you know what I mean.

Here's a description from NFL (where they come from) used with their permission:

"Tocotreionols provide a stable variety of essential nutrients necessary to properly fuel a healthy body. Providing a full protein complement, this raw rice bran whole-food complex is highly beneficial for those who require a gentle boost to their nutritional protocol. Containing vitamins, minerals, and essential fatty acids necessary to enhance health. Tocotrienols are a potent source of vitamin E and a rich source of B vitamins.

Uses:
Helps the body use vitamin A, maintains integrity of cell membranes. Contributes to healthy skin and hair. Acts as an antioxidant, protecting healthy cells from destruction by free radicals.

Until recently, Vitamin E was thought to be composed of several TOCOPHEROLS, the most powerful form of which is ALPHA-TOCOPHEROL. Vitamin E is of great nutritional importance. All body tissues, especially the adrenal and pituitary glands, have high concentrates of Vitamin E, but storage is mainly in the muscles, fatty tissues, and liver. Recently, a new class of compounds related to the TOCOPHEROLS has been discovered, and these compounds are called TOCOTRIENOLS. According to a noted expert in the field of Vitamin E research, ALPHA-TOCOTRIENOL is 40-60 times more potent than ALPHA-TOCOPHEROL. At the present time, there are four named TOCOTRIENOLS. An additional 20 unnamed TOCOTRIENOLS have been discovered. By way of example, DELTA-TOCOTRIENOL is 200 times more potent than ALPHA-TOCOTRIENOL. This bottle contains alpha, beta, gamma, and delta tocotrienols.

Usage:
1-2 tablespoons a day. This is the most potent form of antioxidant vitamin E available. It contains 100% raw mechanically separated rice bran. Great to include in smoothies. Tocopherols are rather abundant in nature, tocotrienols are rare. These were at one time more than $4,000 a bottle in alternative cancer clinics!"
