I know cacao has quite a high magnesium content but does anyone know whether/how much it varies between the powder, butter and nibs? Which would you recommend for highest magnesium content?
Thanks, Freedom

I would say cacao powder. They are way more concentrated than the beans (having a good part of the cacao butter pressed out). Cacao butter would be way down the list since it's the fat from cacao and many of the nutrients would be retained by the powder.

If you do a super bang up job testing the ebook you'll have a $40 voucher - enough for a free 500g pack of cacao powder!! *grin*

Hi there :-)

Can anyone tell me if Cacao nuts have caffeine in them or something else stimulating?  The other night I had 10 about 2hrs before bed and I think they kept me up all night!

Nibs are what you get when you put pressure on the bean and they break into pieces. They are more commonly sold than whole beans (we have both). People seem to like the nibs better for recipes since they are basically ready to use.

Natures party food.... i had a whole lot of cacao beans with goji berries one day and was awake for 2 days...........i find them very stimulating. I am also sure that they do have natural caffeine in them too. Does anyone know for sure?

Decided then that I would only use them when i wanted to party all night. afro

There's a precursor to caffeine called theobromin (sp?) in them. It's not nearly as stimulating, but still is. Some people seem to be more sensitive to it than others. I can eat chocolate and sleep just fine. I run around alot more though!! *grin*

Thanks for the lend of dishes Karen - you'll see them all featured in the brunch section of the new ebook! I will bring them back tomorrow.

Cheers,
Sheryl

I can eat cooked chocolate and sleep.

If I eat raw chocolate, I stay awake.   Hmm ?!!!   Potent!
