Anthony I've just sent a email about looking into this to someone who should be able to help (or know someone who can). I will keep you updated. Thanks for your patience.

What a nice post Anthony. So many people wouldn't do that. And I don't mean from here, in society in general we seem moved to let people know when things go wrong but not when things are going well... Good for you!

Yahhh! We had two suggestions from the developer and both were implemented. Glad it worked. I saw the other person having trouble ABG was also able to post again in her journal. Thank you for letting us know.

Cheers,

Hi Sheryl and Piers,

This is happening to me now.  I can post in other threads but can't post in my journal.  I've been trying on and off since about 10am and it just takes me to a page saying I'm forbidden in large print and then in small print 'or it's a 404 error'.  Well I can't see it being a 404 as I can access everything else on the site, and post elsewhere.

Hope you can fix it.

Many thanks
May

May your journal is now 28 pages long. It's quite possible that with your lovely journal being so long, that the website is just having trouble processing it. What I would suggest is you create a new journal, add a new post to your old with a link to the new one, then lock the old one (blue button at the bottom of the thread). I'm not 100% sure that's what's happening but I think it's likely.

Oh, that's not good cos I just tried to start a new thread and that says forbidden as well.  I'm a bit mystified as I can reply to other topics.

Should I just wait for tomorrow when I've rebooted do you think?  This did happen to me once before where I couldn't reply to anything, but was fine the next day.

I just tried to post in May's journal as well and this is the error report.

From memory it seems to be the same error message I got awhile back and Sheryl and/or Piers emailed their hosting fellow and he fixed it. Ant had the same problem also.

I've just done as suggested (I don't think May has been on since) and started a part 2 thread for her. I honestly think it's just got too long!! Her journal is a popular place to hang out!

But my journal is over 50 pages and I can still post there? Ant's journal was nowhere near as long when he had this problem. Did he have a different error message? Just checked and it seems very similar...

I don't know Jen. The fix done last time was an overall permissions thing (it's already done). I don't know the exact cause but I hope this is a solution.

Just wondering...

Are any of you getting this error when you *haven't* copied and pasted something into your post? I'm thinking it may be some kind of special character being miscopied causing the forum to reject the whole thing.

If any of you are getting it with a post didn't have any copy & paste please let me know by posting here.

Cheers

Hi Piers,

My very first post that was refused definitely didn't have any copy and paste, I just wrote a little note and it wouldn't go.  The next few attempts were all copy and paste but then I wondered what you just have and added/altered some text and still no joy, BUT of course that included some copy/paste work.

Good thinking IT Star.  Hope you solve it.  One tiny character out of place is all IT needs huh?
