This link gives info about around 7 fruit festivals happening this month in East Thailand. It says that the Chanthaburi Fest has been scheduled for the 5th to 13th of May.

http://www.thaiwaysmagazine.com/coming_events.html

Hopefully we will make it to Rayong tomorrow for the last day and a half of their fest. Has been bucketing down here in Chon Buri all last night and today though.

Durian is bliss!

Hi PerillaPower:)

I remember writing to you when you were planning your trip last year, so it's great to hear your raw travels are going well!! You look glowingly healthy in your pic!

How have you and your partner been going with eating raw over there?? You guys must have to eat a LOT with all the riding you're doing! You're lucky to have a fellow rawie to travel with.  I got back from my SEAsia trip in Feb, was fantastic, ate mostly raw in Cambodia and went to the local markets every day, even made a few greensmoothies with my trusty handblender haha. But after that i ended up eating cooked as was travelling with cooked fooders and ended up going with them to (cheap) restaurants all the time.

Did you know that a group of ppl from here are going over to Thailand for the festivals soon?

Have fun eating durian!!!

Somers - Nice to hear that you also had a fun time in Asia. We have been eating so much amazing fruit now we are back in Thailand. There is so much here and it is all so mind blowingly good. When we were here for a month last year we ate almost all raw and then in India for 4 months we ate about half and half. Here in Thailands peak fruit season it should be no problem eating all raw for the next two months though. We know that others are coming over and look forward to catching them somewhere - maybe the Chantaburi festival.

So yeah, Roarphood and I are pretty much blissing out all the time. The mangoes are so amazing here, I've never tasted them so good and so much flesh, and so cheap, yesterday we got about 3 kilos for 70centsAU. Also we are loving the durian, mangosteen and rambutan, these you can get for around 50 cents a kilo!

We are currently in Rayong and are staying about 150meters away from the best fruit market weve ever been to. We made a trip to the Rayong fruit festival this morning but there wasnt much happening there (apart from a fruit market), maybe because it has been pouring with rain for a few days now.

Hi,I am moving to Bangkok next month and am mostly raw.  It is nice to see this posting.  I can't imagine too many Thai farmers using pesticides but I would still like to inquire about organics.  Non certified is OK.  Any info would be great.  Thanks,
Joe

Yahhhh Joe. That's amazing! I love that you're moving somewhere so wonderful for raw food. I can imagine no place more wonderful.

Do let us know what you discover. There's another guy here posting as PrimalDurian that lives permanently in Bangkok. You might want to send him a pm. I don't think he comes by that often.

I wish you much joy with the move!
