Quick question

Many recepies call for the usage of a mandoline to prepare our food. Now what is it exactly  does this refer to a thin slicer or a very fine grater ?  huh Sorry I am abit confused so if knows or know where to buy one let me know.

Cheers

HI. I have a mandoline. I call it my evil v-slicer because it's attacked me twice. Never mind it was my fault both times! A mandoline is a v-slicer. They slice thinly or shred (how I cut my thumb) dice. I love mine and use it often. I've done a quick google and found you a link so you can see for yourself. You may need to cut and paste this as they aren't always clickable.

http://www.vslicer.co.uk/ This will allow you to see it anyhow.

Nice deep cuts. Lucky us rawbies heal quickly...  cheesy

I forgot to say that I bought mine from a kitchen shop for about $50 but have seen them cheaper in aldi and other cheapy stores. I don't know how good the cheap ones are.

Wonderful Sheryl sent me her old mandoline when she got a new v-slicer and although I haven't used it much I love it (and haven't had any painful finger issues!)

Here is the link Jen posted above, in link-able form:

Thanks Freedom. How do you do that please. It'll stop people having to redo my links for me.

Thanks Freedom for the mini pizza idea. Yummm. Love it.  kiss My daughter thinks it's sooooo awesome that you changed your name to Freedom. She is thinking about what to change her name to when she gets older! Love it.

Hey Jen, to make links clickable you use the 'insert hyperlink' button, it has a picture of the world on it and is located directly underneath the 'underline' button and above the smileys.
That's sweet that your little girl wants to change her name now but caitlyn is beautiful too, it has a special place in my heart because my very best friend in primary school was called Caitlin.
