I read the other topic on soap.

here is my question:

why do people use soap?  is it possible to clean the surface of your body without the use of soap?  if it is possible, then why do people use soap?

I made a "soap" today out of raw coconut oil, raw honey, raw tahini, raw lemon juice w pieces of raw lemon peels, and baking soda.  I feel really clean and soft, and it smells good.  I did not use any "soap."  will i start to smell bad?

oh yea and also what are essential oils, and what are they used for?

thanks!

it depends from your stage of cleanness, where and how you live, what are you aspirations whether you want use or not use a soap...

like many of us here probably do I use chemical free plant soap from the Health Shops or Organic Stores, which is a cheap way to clean yourself and can sustain Fair Trade... native people of many countries have always used to wash their hair and body with specific plants… i experimented once on a pushbike, after having been told from a Naturopath about the possibility, to stay without soap for a few weeks and it was fine; the earth, the air, the water and elements of the sun together with raw food and hard exercise were making a great work of cleanness, after some days the smell was totally disappeared, just some water came out from my pores, therefore i'm not afraid to stay and live without soap when in a clean environment and nature...
its a matter of vision, if you can see yourself living without soap where you are than try how it feels;
I personally like soaps for their good smelling and balsamic properties they leave on the skin and feel that they are cleaning as well the astral and finer spiritual nature from emotional and mental impurities... used it in rich quantity twice at week and in less quantity the other days with a soap you can massage and feel every part of the body, a good opportunity to come in contact and love yourself…
Currently I’m using some deodorising salt rock you can found on the Web; after the shower you massage the rock on your wet body from head to feed, this keeps away bacteria and impurities and disinfect small wounds, irritations, mosquito bits and helps you prevent the unpleasant sensation of bad smelling...

Whether you use homemade soap or chemical free bought from Organic Shops, or choice to experiment the ascetic way to let things be done from the Elements of Nature, it’s part of your personal aspiration, of your vision and a choice given to you…

Good Luck Aguacate,
Ivan
