Howdy folks!

Well the time has come. I am officially raw again, starting today.

If you would like some background on my past rawness or who i am and what i do and things of that nature you can check this thread. (man, that link took no small effort to make work lol)

As for now, well ive not been liking the symptoms springing from my non rawness ever since i stopped eating the right way, and over the last week theyve gotten a lot worse. poor digestion, flatulence, nasty skin rash, inability to keep my energy up etc etc so im back to raw, knowing i never should have left. but wiser for it with no regrets. and im starting with a one day water fast (today, had kiwis for breakfast and lots and lots of water since then) followed by a 12 day banana feast, just to get the ball rolling on getting this toxic stinky energy sapping gunk out of me (inspired by all the banana feasting that seems to be going on right now. and what tastier way could there be to give my insides a rest and recoup?). and after that its raw all the way!

i may or may not add greens into my banana feast, making gs's, depending on how i feel. but for now its just bananas.

speaking of GS's, thanks for all the tips in the other thread ladies. ive been having a few since then and actually rather enjoy them. . especially banana, date and spinach *swoons* you were all a big inspiration to get me to just suck it up and try them again lol. also one thing that really helped was blending the greens first and then putting in fruit so its all smooth instead of having big green chunks. you would think it would be obvious. but apparently not lol.

im curious to see just how many 'nanas i will be eating, with the energy requirements from circus school and training like i do. but im financially pretty good this week so im gonna pick up a box of bananas tomorrow and it will be on...

as for training, i landed new tricks today!  cheesy that always makes me a happy camper. and thanks to my new spinning ball (actually water polo ball, who would have thought they would make the perfect ball for spinning?), thanks to my new ball im getting all my old spinning tricks happening again too. which makes me an EXTATIC camper, since ball spinning is one of my absolute loves when it comes to juggling.

ahhh practicing what i love in the sun with next to nothing on... i couldnt be happier.

im going to endeavour to keep a semi regular food and training journal here, i have to keep one for school anyway so i may as well put it here just incase anyone is interested. though i doubt i will get around to it every day, i'll try to keep it as regular as i can. so if anyone has any thoughts, encouragement, dietary suggestions etc etc  to share or any reason to post a reply at all really, by all means, please do so!

til then,i hope youre all smiling!

rawness for all!

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! Ant has a journal! I'm so glad you are here Ant!

Congrats on the new trick. That's awesome. While I was reading your post a book came to mind. It's called "way of the peaceful warrior" by Dan Millman. Awesome read. Have you read it?

Welcome Anthony! I just read your circus school post (thanks for linking to it). Wow!! What a seriously beautiful physical two years you have ahead of you! Marvelous that you're looking for the best way to nourish your body too and so glad you found us.

My husband Piers has a sister that is into circus arts as a hobby... so I have some idea of what you're up to. I look forward to hearing more both about your food and training. So cool!!

Cheers,

Jen: i read one of Dan Millmans books many years ago, i think it may have been a sequel to the one you mention. i did intend on reading "way of the peaceful warrior" at some stage but i guess i never got round to it. i was very heavily into the books of Carlos Castenada at the time and i found it funny when i read Dan Millmans book because he totally bags out Castenada in one of the first chapters lol. "My Warrior system is better than yours" lol. it was an enjoyable read though. i must hunt the first one down some time Smiley thanks for the reminder.

Sheryl: Thanks for the welcome Smiley I'm rather glad i found you guys too. it was a couple of weeks of searching the net for raw boards before i came across yours and it is by far the most informative and most cheerful! of any that i found. love it! so thank you!

i was actually at school for 14 hours today lol. what the hell? hehe its such a beautiful space, and even more so when theres noone else there, so i really enjoy staying there late at night to train after everyone has gone home.. im a quiet solitary type deep down (and that makes clowning and improv classes quite a challenge, let me tell you lol)

im just about to have my 29th banana for the day. though ive only been eating when i feel hungry (mostly. sometimes i eat when i feel low on energy but know i have 2 hours of conditioning and arial training coming up lol) then its 100 sit ups, 20 standard pushups, 20 wide, 20 diamond, a shower and bed.

hope youve all had a wonderful day folks. i have Smiley

hahaha i think it would be fun to try though.

ive had 31 so far today. been feeling tired all day and a little run down. im thinking ive possibly hit detox lol. my rash has gotten worse and spread all over both of my forearms grrrr. and my tongue is coated with thick white gunk lol.

i still trained though, tumbling for two hours, rolling globe and slackline for one, ballet for one, and web (arial rope or corde lisse are its other names if that helps Smiley for one hour. as well as half an hour of juggling during lunch and a bit after school as well lol.

felt great all day. its just now that its over i feel crappy lol. i possibly didnt pick the greatest time for a detox.. but gotta do it some time Smiley the sooner the better i think.

i just got home from my first day out busking in christchurch. WHY DIDNT I DO THIS SOONER? i busked heaps while i was in melbourne and brisbane, but its taken me more than three months, time i stupidly spent worrying about money, to get out and go busking here. and it was great! i was at the riccarton markets, a convenient 15 minute walk from my house. and made the same amount of money, in the same general time, as i would have made on an average day in the mall in brisbane. i dont know why, i just expected to not make much coz theres so fewer people here in christchurch.

speaking of which, i head back to brissy on friday for two whole weeks of fun and love and wonder cheesy so if any of you brisbanites see a guy busking in the mall with a crystal ball during that time (6th - 20th april ) come and say hi. coz its most likely me hehe.

on the banana feast note... all of my bananas are at school, and i ate all the ones i brought home for the weekend yesterday lol. so its been an apple feast today Smiley from the tree in my backyard. YUM.

Great read, Ant! I soo want to join the circus so please keep telling us lots more about it! What are the requirements for getting into the circus school you're in? Awesome about the busking... you will have to make a habit of it now! Obviously you were new and exciting and if you keep bringing them new tricks you should keep turning the coin over! :D

I love aerial arts... I want to learn web, hoop, silks and trapeze... but try fitting all of that into my already full schedule! That's why I want to join the circus altogether!!! :D

hello lovely rawbies! (not to be confused with rabies... which arent so lovely)

sorry for lack of updates lately. i try but theres been technical dificulties.  patience, patience  smiley

im on holidays now. heading back to brissy today to see my girl for a couple of weeks. happy happy days!

school is going well. i strained an ab which stopped me doing a lot of stuff but its healing well and will be fine by the time i get back. my juggling going SUPER. i set myself goals at the start of the course and deep down had doubts about whether they were truly achievable... theyre beggining to seem like they are, which is awesome! it feels like im learning faster than i ever have, which is strange because my juggling tutor doesnt do any of my style of juggling (large ball manipulation, and ball spinning) and so isnt able to actually teach me anything, its more sort of both of us throwing ideas back and forth and figuring it out together... i guess that helps more than i ever realised.

PB: arials are great. in particular Web. ive fallen in love with it. and when youre hanging by one arm from that little loop way high up in the air and spinning spinnning spinning faster than you can think... i can see how the dervishes use spinning to become one with everything. its a truly amazing experience. i cant wait to learn more of it!

much love to you all!

The web sounds like it could become a type of meditation! How cool is that! There are types of active meditation (Osho comes to mind) that involve physical movement too. I think that's one reason why exercise, and simply using our bodies) make us feel so good.

I love your circus stories... keep them coming!!!

yes thats definitely how i feel when im spinning on web sheryl. it only lasts a couple of minutes (we're begginers so they dont keep us up too long. tho i wish they would hehe. i LOVE spinning around) but it feels much longer and i seem to lose thought, and the whole world is a blur and you dont know up from down from forward and sideways lol you no longer have any reference point except this pressure on your wrist, which is oh so easy to forget. its truly wonderful.

i also find contact juggling very meditative sometimes. CJ is where you have a ball (or more than one) and roll them all over your hands and body.. think The Labyrinth. this is my first love when it comes to juggling and still the truest. at the moment im training doing those hand waves Bowie (or rather Moschen) does in the Labyrinth, but doing them with my head, with the ball rolling temple to temple, or stopping on my forhead. it takes such intense concentration or you just dont get anywhere. it can become very meditative at times.

i cant wait til we start doing contemporary dance in second semester. it will go so beautifully with  my CJ
