Hi there  :D  I'm going to cairns for a week at the end of June and was wondering if there are any raw foodies up that way? If you would like to meet, greet, share yummy recipes, raw adventures or just wanna chat, I would love to hear from you!

Lucky vneisha, I lived in Cairns, my advice read all noticeboards, visit Rusty's Market held Saturday mornings, CBD area of Cairns, great variety of tropical fruit at reasonable prices.

Another great market is Kuranda up on the tablelands, set in a rain forest.

I ran the Peeramon Hotel on the tablelands near Malanda, a quaint village, the local supermarket sold fresh homemade tofu.

Trinity Beach is the home of Rene Beresford who conducts the Fruitarian Network.

How I miss this beautiful mystic region, have fun.....cunningham

Have to second everything Cunningham said,

Kuranda IS absolutely beautiful (a lot like Mt Tamborine) and Rene is a real sweetie. He's been publishing his Raw Food / Fruitarian / Natural Hygiene newsletter with a spirtual bent ("Fruitarian Raw Foods Network News") for years. Ask us for his email if you're interested in getting in touch (we'd rather avoid putting it here to keep the spam-bots away from his inbox!).

Cheers

Thankyou and nice to meet you Cunningham. I will  definitley be visiting kuranda and Rusty's market. I hope they haven't changed much from when I lived up that way years ago. I visited Malanda alot during my stay so next time i'll have ta keep an eye out for the Peeramoon hotel.  Less than a month to go now before i check out the raw scene of nth qld and eat heaps of coconuts!

:situps:
I'm also visiting Cairns in July. Was a local for many years.. a St Monica's girl. Even knew Rusty (sister in law worked for him). Will be looking forward to the tropical fruits.
Piers, how can i get Renee's newsletter? as it was fruitarianisn via Ross Horne that introduced me to the raw diet concept.
Cheers
