Just had to tell you that I just washed my hair using the vinegar rinse (worked out that I use 1 cup to 1 litre so used 1.5ltr of water instead) and I have no hair falling out. I use to be able to get clumps of hair after I brushed it and there was about 3 strands that is so weird Im loving this new thing. Pete complains cause my hair is just everywhere so obviously now it wont be yippee  yahh

Panterka - I used to have a painfully ichy scalp and wouldnt be able to sleep if I hadn washed my hair every second day. I eventually found that by slowly edging the days between washing apart my hair began to cope and wouldnt get so itchy after the two, three and then four days between washes. I eventually realised that the more I washed it the faster it would get itchy! Now I manage to wash my hair, with shampoo only, about once every 1.5 weeks.

The hairties are a good idea, when I stopped washing my hair so often I got some pimples on the edge of my jaw coz of the extra oil on my face.

Funny thing about toilet paper.  When I first started using it I only ever used one square.  Reason being I just assumed that one square was a regular portion. (i.e. The "unit bias" phenomenon).  It wasn't until about ten years later that I found out most people use a lot more.  By that stage I was used to using one square and didn't see any need to change.

I have been following this post with interest as i have been trying for a couple of years now to lenghthen the time between washing my hair, which starts getting greasy after 2 days, and have got it down to two washes a week now, but after reading the posts here last week i thought i would try and see how long i could leave it for.  I lasted a week (thats with 2 rinses and an apple cider vinegar wash on day five).  I got home from work last night tho and could not bear to look at the grease ball that was attached to my scalp a minute longer and i caved.  It was so nice this morning to have clean hair again - but i think i will see if i can just shampoo/condition weekly for a while and see how that goes.  My biggest problem seems to be the grease.  Apple cider vinegar didnt seem to make any difference. Luckily i didnt seem to get any itch.

Hi all,

this is very inspiring and I think I may give it a try, and will see how I go. Thanks Kelly for your suggestions, I have 2 weeks or so off work and uni to prepare for exams, so now is a good time to try it, so I won't scare anyone or get fired for greasy hair!   rofl

One other idea I came up with today (totally raw) is washing your hair with an egg. When I was little, mum used to wash my hair with, I think it was the yolk, raw of course. It didn't make me cry and made my hair very soft. That was many years ago and I will make sure I ask mum to confirm how she did it, but from memory she used a couple of yolks (this would depend on the length of your hair) and rubbed them into my scalp and roots mostly (that's where the grease is anyway, not on the ends). Then washed off. No conditioners (they were simply not available where we lived at that time).

One word of warning though: the water must be lukewarm, not hot, otherwise the egg would cook and you will have bits of egg in your hair that are apparently very difficult to get out.

So I am going to try this and vinegar rinses and will see how I go.

whats toilet paper?
just kidding..

hair washed everyday in cold water will be prime in no time. i truly believe all the thrashed hair we see in western countries is due to all the gunk we 'wash' it in and the hot chlorine water.

the best hair ive seen on chicks is girls whom dont even know what pantene is.

Hee hee never thought i would say this but man, toilet paper is seriously unnatural...in thailand its not something you see much, only in really touristy areas..and if you use it you have to put it in the bin not flush it..and they have a hose that you wash yourself off with...so much better so much more natural and its like having a shower  after everytime you go to the loo...

As for shampoo its been 3 weeks now, just cold water showers and my hair is prime..growing so much and so healthy feels great...3 min showers...run my fingers through my hair just to flatten it down a little...this is  it
am ready..ohh yes i do occasionally remember to throw a couple of items of clothes on too..at the moment its bikini top and sexy fishermans pants...ohh these pants are too cool..Grant bought some too, ladies he looks seriously PHWOARR,hot hot!! quite luckily it is for him, that i have taken a step into the nunnery and and have thrown away the key for awhile so there is no getting out....lol.....
watching him run into the sea in his fisherman pants then run out,and the water had loosened them off....hee hee thought i would give you a little teaser ladies..and make Grant blush at the same time,,two birds with one stone...mwahh harr harrr,i am mischievious and loving it... ohyeah

Damn Neets,

You know with his hot new do and seeing his gorgeous face... that wasn't nice! I am definitely coming to Thailand next year. Definitely!  evil

Well I went to the brissy picnic yesterday and up went my hair in a pony and under a hat so as to not gross anyone out with my greasiness. When I got home I took off the hat and my goodness! The comb marks were still there from the morning! If that weren't enough, when I took off the hair tie my pony tail stayed there.

I should bottle my grease and sell it as hair styler. Harr harr harr

Well done Freedom! I'm about to go and help Bill with some plastering and I'm going to wear it up and under a hat. I'm paranoid that the plaster dust will settle and mix in with the grease and I'll end up looking like a leggo man/woman. hehehe

Freedom that is fantastic about your hair. How long has it been now?

Jen I still dont have a problem with the oilyness that is really weird that last time I used Shampoo was last Sunday.

Anyway an update on my hair I rinsed it with vinegar on Friday night (you all know cause I posted about no hair falling out) then on Saturday morning my hair was a little oily and itchy. So I was going to have a shower and rinse it again and of course couldnt cause of the kids Connor wanted mummy cuddles to sleep and then as soon as I finally got him of the the land of nod mum arrived to take me to the markets to get fresh fruit and vegies. So I didnt get a chance to wash my hair. It was only this monring when I finally rinsed it and after a little while of me scratching I stoped and didnt scratch for the rest of the day. So I am loving this and it is allready a week. I do find it better with my hair to use the vinegar and I will hopefully be able to stretch it out a little in a few days/weeks.
