Hi Em.. Many thanks for your guidance on getting kids to eat more greens - I really like the idea of using them to wrap fruit, had not done that one before and also having more pot plants around with easily accessible greens.

Luckily one thing my kids (particularly the two little ones) do like is their daily vegie juice to which i try to add as many greens as i think will be palatable plus it usually has some celery sticks in it as well as carrots and cucumber.

I have been encouraging them to eat a green "popsicle" every day after reading one of your earlier posts; my eldest girl's little friends (3 - 4years old) usually ask for seconds of these; they are also popular with my husband!

As for myself, I have had some trouble with my gums/ teeth despite eating lots of greens and wild greens and very little nuts/ dried fruit.  This may be exacerbated by the fact I'm still breastfeeding two little ones.  Despite believing vegan is best I've just started adding egg yolk and a little raw goats cheese to my diet to see if that will improve things for now - I read about this on Dr Bass's website (www.drbass.com), perhaps you've come across it before.

I haven't done a lot of reading of Dr Bass' material but I hope it is the answer you need for your teeth.

I have always said that the first thing we need to learn (re-learn) is to listen to our bodies. While everyone is busy debating what the perfect diet may be, your body will quietly let you know exactly what it needs. The hardest part of course is listening lol.

I had gum issues when eating only fruit and greens, but I have found they have settled down when I ate more vegetables (carrots, beets, celery, etc). I also juiced greens to add to my smoothies as well as the usual whole bits I put in. Fruit is still what I eat the most of though.

I think it was my body flushing out. Because I was eating 80/10/10 or higher, it had the opportunity to catch up on some much needed work. Maybe by adding the vegies I simply slowed the process down? I doubt it. I feel that my body needed the vegies to do whatever miraculous thing it was up to.

I also brush with water after most meals and floss when I need to. I have always had really healthy teeth and I want to keep them that way.

I love hearing how other mum's are going RAM, thanks so much for posting here.

I had a good workout this morning. I got up and did my usual 30mins on the elliptical trainer and then 30mins of yoga. My normal routine from there is to put a load of washing on and the kids and I have breakfast.

Unfortunately the washing machine isn't working. I had lots of washing to do too because it has been raining. So I handwashed everything, wrung it out by hand (twisting and then wrapping in a towel and rolling) and have it hanging by the fire. A good upper body workout. Hopefully DH can fix it when he gets home! Luckily he is a handy sort of man.

For breakfast I had 3 very large oranges (they are so juicy at the moment) and the kids both had rockmelon. We all crave juicy fruits in the morning, I guess because our bodies are re-hydrating a little from sleep. I can't stand anything too heavy first thing in the morning anyway.

DD has a puzzle out and is wanting some help. The perfect fire-side activity on a rainy day.

Have a great arvo!

I had a great workout this morning. Weights and cardio. I am noticing that I am getting stronger and able to lift more for longer. It's such a great thing to feel strong!

I have been having very well-combined GS' over the last few months but this week I have been craving a GS made from, apple, orange, banana and celery. It is refreshing, tasty and sits fine in my stomach. Again the importance of listening to my body is brought to my attention, as apposed to doing it the 'right way'.

I picked up a box of apples yesterday for $5. It said 'Horse Apples' which I laughed about. There is nothing wrong with them and they are local, crisp and juicy new season apples. Why they were only for horses I'm not sure? Such a great find!

Time to go and make lunch. Apples anyone?

Tee hee. Lucky horses!

I have always said that the first thing we need to learn (re-learn) is to listen to our bodies. While everyone is busy debating what the perfect diet may be, your body will quietly let you know exactly what it needs.

This reminded me of the saying "It's the quiet ones you've got to watch!" so true in so many ways. Thank you for the reminder Emi and good luck to DH and your washing machine. May your arms grow strong!

Washing machine was fixed in about 10mins Jen, he is a clever man. I saw your pizza pics in your journal. I make mine that way too. I use capsicum or tomato as the base usually. Yum!

I decided it was time for a name change. I feel like I am at a new stage in my journey. A very clear beginning of something. YKWIM?

It was difficult to decide, so I went with something simple and an obvious reflection of where I am at. I will change the name of my journal too at some stage. Not on the priority list at the moment.

A part of my life at the moment is finding a way to make an income from my creative pursuits. I have started by making a blog-shop and listing things there. I also have a wonderful friend who has offered to sell things in her online store (that fit her vision and direction) and I am exploring the possibilities in other stores too.

I thought I might try the local markets too. Especially when cruiseship season starts. That's assuming we're still here then.

It's exciting and scary!

I skipped the gym this morning after a tumble down the back stairs. A weak excuse but it works for me! lol. No major injury, just a few bruises.

Off for a walk now while there is a break in the rain.

Hugs love. That's not a way to get down the stairs... walk, run, jump. Not tumble k? Hope you heal quick which of course you will!

I'd not thought of a capsicum base but I thought of a pineapple base today with a sweet vanilla cashew cream and berries on top! Wum!

Sanghama, thank you and yes I am looking forward to the exciting times!

Neet, much love to you. I am technicolour actually. I got little sympathy from DH and kids until the third day when the bruise had surfaced fully. By then it had stopped hurting and I had stopped feeling sorry for myself! lol I hope you're having a great day babe. I've got an email drafted to you too, will send it off in the next few days.

Hey Jen, I wouldn't exactly call it a tumble, more of an inelegant thump and slide, lol. Still laughing, thinking of what it would have looked like. Pineapple base sounds yum, got the mouth watering and the brain whizzing with ideas for different toppings. Thanks! Hope you're having a great start to the week.

We had a good weekend. Though it came with a few challenges, nothing we couldn't handle though.

On Sat I had a precious sleep-in until 8. Heaven! Then we went for a lovely long walk along the beach. The last few weeks we've had some wild weather and it's meant that some interesting things have come up onto the beaches. Fish, shells, seaweed, etc. All wonderful to explore with the kids.

On Sun I spent a few hours gardening and potting up some new seedlings to sit by the front door. The back door has a nice little (large) collection already. I planted out spinach, silverbeet, cos, peppermint (for tea and medicinal purposes, as well as salads) and lavender. The lavender went into the gardens that are already established. It seems to be a bit of a tradition for me to plant a lavender wherever we stay.

We also went for a drive to my favourite little town up the road. It has an eco store and a lovely little F&V shop that has things in it I can't get where we are. I also picked up some organic seeds to plant for summer. I have no idea if we will still be here to see them fruit but hey, good karma?

I love being on the coast (I know I've mentioned that before!) and having access to such stunning beaches. Of course we spent many hours on Sun enjoying them too. As well as this morning. Tough life!

I am re-reading A New Earth and finding new insights into myself and the choices I make. And how I interact with others, especially DH and the kids. It's also interesting to look at how the foods I eat are a part of the mental/emotional/ego patterns. All part of the journey I know.

Off to work on DD's visual journal with her.

Have a great week!

No organised physical activity for today and I have to say I feel a little restless tonight. I've got a class at the gym in the morning and I am looking forward to it, which has to be a good thing right?!

I am learning a new level to a lesson at the moment, about letting someone choose different to what I do, even if I THINK my way is right. It's challenging to let the people we are closest to make their own choices when we feel that they are going to be hurt by them in the future. But then, that's me placing my judgements and expectations on that person and really I need to let them have their own journey.

I am also learning to be in the moment, in the now. Again! Constant struggle for me it seems, to stay present and centred. I have just finished A New Earth and I have begun, Practising the Presence of the Goddess. It is once again filled with reminders to me to be NOW. It's the fifth book I've read along the same lines, so obviously something I need to learn before I can go forward...

A friend of mine has been experimenting with strawberries and growing them out in her glasshouse. I had the most gorgeous, juicy meal of them tonight and they are almost the best ones I have ever eaten. The best being the ones I used to eat with my grandfather, sitting on the back step of their house after going on a hunt through their gardens to find all the big, ripe berries. The memory is brought back each time I eat strawberries.

Which I guess is why we have cravings too. Emotional cravings I mean. The memories and meanings that we attach to the foods that we eat (or don't eat as the case may be) and when we eat them. It makes me wonder if it's possible to retain the 'good' attachments, without also holding onto the 'bad'. Is it possible for me to eat foods without any attachment at all?

I know, back to that being in the NOW where there are no attachments at all...

I went to an op-shop this morning and made some great finds. Clothes for the kids, patterns, fabric for me to make things with, a bag and some little odds and ends.

I have been using the fabric to make things for my blog-shop. I have already sold two things which I am so excited about and I need to get more things up. I just have to find my camera? I used it on Sunday to take pictures of the little garden DD made and since then I haven't been able to find it. Just hoping that DS didn't pop it into the rubbish, which is his favourite thing to do at the moment.

Off to have an early night, curled up with a book and my hot-water bottle. Sleep peacefully all.

I am finally at the end of this stage of my journey. Today I got the all clear. I am * - free. Healthy. Whole.

It is such an overwhelming feeling. Gratitude. Peace. Relief. And of course joy.

I am sure that eating raw vegan had a huge impact but there were other things too. Meditation and creative visualisation. The love of my family and friends. Stubborness. Many, many, many hours of reading and inner questioning. And greens, greens, greens...

So, the end of this chapter.

A new moment. A new beginning. A pure gift.

Thank you Jen and yes it was/is an amazing feeling. I am very grateful.

I deleted the C word from my last post because I have a bit of fear of it. Something I know I need to work through. I just don't want to give it a door back into my life. I am focused on healthy, whole, vibrant. All the things I have kept before me since hearing my diagnosis. I am free.

I have set up a new journal to ramble in. I should just get a blog I know, but I don't have enough time for the two forums I post on, let alone any more. Life is too good to spend all day on the computer!

Emi,

I was so so delighted to read your penultimate post here - such wonderful news, and a credit to your unswerving dedication, focus and faith in healing yourself.

At the time that I read it, a few days ago - I was going to post a quote.  But it didn't seem appropriate, and I looked further afield, and bounced from it to Rumi to Kahlil Gibran ... all over the place really.  I bounced so much, that I posted nothing.

But now, I will post the words that I was initially reminded of when I read your post, whether I think they are apt or not...

...all those impulses of love return to the love that made them.  Even memory is not necessary for love.  There is a land of the living and a land of the dead, and the bridge is love, the only survival, the only meaning.

Thank you MissGiggles. I asked a question of the universe over the weekend and found your reply in my inbox this morning. It is the third confirmation to the answer and I am grateful to read it. Funny how things work. Coincidence? Never.

Your post made me think of this one:

"Love is the only sane and satisfactory answer to the problem of human existence.”
