Thanks Grant kiss

You can be Australia's answer to Dr Doug and I'll organise everything so you just have to run the last 100 kms to all the venues and then present your knowledge with a smile, knowing everything is perfect behind stage.  I'll allow time for showers and gs glugging before the show.  Heck, I'll make the gs!!!

I certainly should have interviewed my last boss - oh dear!!! Sad

I sing too - but not heavy metal LOL  Jen, can I book you in to Grant's diary for an interview/audition?

Mwarr harr harr! Me in a band? Ok... sounds great. Only kidding. Bill would larf and larf! He actually gets to hear me sing you see. I walk around the house singing all day. I have a song for every occasion and if I don't have one with the right words... I modify one!

For example... I had to shred some documents the other day and as I was shredding I was singing 'you, shredded all day long' to the ac/dc tune. hehehe. But I usually stick to lovely songs like 'if you're raw and you know it clap your hands' and then I clap madly like a two year old! (Good one for Georgia May!) You could modify that one yourself Grant to 'if you're 811 and you know it bang your head' and throw your head around like Tazzie YEAH!

I'm sorry that your singer has quit. Maybe after a rest he'll be back. Minds are made for changing!

I'm really enjoying this thread. Funny. Got the biggest smile on my dial!

Hehehee.

How much is that wuff wuff in the window?
The one with the waggliest tayell.
How much is that wuff wuff in the window?
I do hope that doggie's for sayel.

And David rolleyes asks the ground to open up and swallow me.  Har har, no such luck!!!

I really admire people who can sing so beautifully and effortlessly. I, unfortunately for those around me, wasn't gifted with that gift... lol

According to my children I'm not gifted either! My daughter accuses me of hurting her ears when I sing! However in the post office this morning while I was posting a package I started singing some song and didn't realise it until the guy serving me said 'pity you are in such a cranky mood this morning'! Cheeky bugger. I think he might be a relative of May's gorgeous husband Dave!

Harr harr harr.

Emi, I'm glad you don't let what others think hold you back.
I think everyone needs to sing, good or bad...it makes you feel FANTASTIC! ...just like May and Jen feel all day long with their frolicking  yahh

That sounds like a beautiful life May. All I have to do is run, drink gs and talk to people about health...oh and shower.
Awesome!!!

I read what you wrote to David, Jen, and he says he's sure he has no idea what you're talking about.  My response was a long groan Wink

Yes, RAA, don't forget the showers please.  Though I doubt very much that you smell.  It would be awesome that's for sure kiss

Hi.! I have just come across this discussion and was excited.! I too am an athlete, have competed in triathlon for years and recently started getting into adventure racing - completed my first 24hr race a few weeks ago. Glad to see there's people out there like me, who understand that a raw/vegan diet doesn't restrict capabilities/abilities out there in the sporting world. -- on that note.. does anyone know of a good nutritionist who deals with vegan athletes.? i have been having trouble locating one here in perth..noon.

Hi there Noon,

It's good to meet you and welcome to the forum.  I'm in Perth but I'm not an athlete.  We have a naturopath on the forum who works from Alive Organics in Bayswater - I think she's in Bali at the moment but should be back soon.

Other that than there's RawAussieAthlete who you've already found - I'm sure he'll write to you later.  He's certainly the man with some great advice for gruelling athletic feats!  And there are others too!

I don't reckon you'll need to pay to see a nutritionist, just keep watching this space!  But that's just my opinion.

Keep an eye open in the Australia section of the forum too as we have regular get togethers of raw foodists in Perth, in the form of bring-a-plate picnics.

Welcome again!

Hi Noon

Congratulations on your first 24hr race!
I don't find I need a nutritionist with all the advice available on raw. What are your concerns?
Try things out that make sense and that work for other people. At the end of the day, you want to be getting great results from your lifestyle choices.
Doug Graham (http://www.foodnsport.com) is one of the leading experts on raw vegan nutrition for athletes.
You can pay for email support from him which I know many people have benefitted from.
Or you could throw your questions to people on this forum.

On Sunday night under the light of a large moon I ran an 18km road run with a few decent hills while my son rode his bike next to me. Took me 1hr 28min. Haven't done that particular run for about a year.
A year ago it took me 8 to 10 minutes longer and I finished the last 20-30 minutes with my legs feeling very fatigued.
This time I powered to the finish and felt playful the entire time, often running with my arms hanging by my sides with my palms forwards, soaking up the moonlight. Felt awesome!
I love raw!
So now I know I can run:
- under 5 minutes per km for 1.5hrs
- under 6 minutes per km for 3hrs (from the 60km Jaggad Bush Capital Ultra Marathon last month)
After 3 hrs, the mental and physical games set in...

Grant I know that's just another day to you (the 18 km run) but to us mere mortals it's truly incredible.  Congratulations!!!
