Hey Angie guess what... me too! it sucks - luckily, I am almost better and have suffered a LOT less than everyone else in my house who has it. I have a natural healing remedies book and I was checking that out the other day - the main dietary recommendations are lots of fresh fruit especially CITRUS with all their vitamin C, no high sugar or dairy products, lol!  rofl So I think we've both got all those covered. I'm sure it is very tough for you with two little kids but I honestly think lots and lots of rest is the key ingredient. I know I only got sick because I spent last week doing work experience that began at 6am every day and a few days didn't finish till 4pm as well as being something I didn't want to do, so I was completely physically emotionally drianed.
HOpe you feel better soon. Oh and I was also thinking that to soothe a sore throat the traditional lemon juice/honey could be made raw by using some agave and mixing it with lemon juice in just ever so slightly warm water.

Kiwifruit and capsicums are also high in VitC.

one thing that always helps me if im not feeling the best is lots of lemon or lime juice mixed with water... i drink a couple of litres of that a day and eat minimally (i mainly have juice or green smothies if i have anything).
I usually feel better by the afternoon if not the next morning...
sniffing peppermint oil helps clear a blocked nose too... steam baths (or chucking your head over some boiled water inhailing some nice oils) can help to sweat out toxins and cold bugs (or so ive been told.. it seems to work for me..)
i've found that javing some echinacia when your feeling run down can help too...
ok they're my main tips Smiley
hope they help
bring on the lemon!
feel better,
luv kt

Hi pink tulip

Hey I can say that I too have have well kindaaaaa a cold....but it doest feel like one coz its only abit of coughing irritation from all the goop coming out .

"Kinda" because I have been feeling everything come out of my body" the goop stuff...its actually been feeling greatRELIEF ( apart from the coughing when mucous is rubbing on the back of my throat .
Quite liberating  yahh  laugh

TIP when you sleep sleep with an extra pillow on your head so the muscous doesnt irritant your  throat.

Food TIP

"ALEGNES ROCKET BOMB ASIAN SOUP"
========================== quantities vary according to personnel taste and tolerance of hot stuff.

1TBS MISO
RIND OF 1 LEMMON GRATED
I KNOB OF GINGER GRATED
2-3 CLOVES GARLIC ( I USED AT LEAST 6)
1 REDCHILLIES ( I USED AT LEAST 3-4 AND I EVERN CHUCK IN THE SEEDS DARING ARENT I)
CELTIC SALT OPTIONAL ( I ADD ABOUT 1/8 tsp)
1/2 LEMMON JUICED ( MAKE SURE DONT ADD IT TO MISO ALL AT ONCE AND MAKE IT TOO RUNNY LITTLE AT A TIME)
1/4-1/2 CAYNE PEPPER ( I DONT EVERN MEASURE ..I LIKE MINE HOT)

Grab some raw miso and mix in some lemmon juice to this paste add grated ginger lots of grated garlic chooped up chilies ( as many as you can tolerate) abit of celtic salt ( you can omit off course) , grated lemmon rind , cayene pepper powder as much as you like and freshly grated black pepper. Make into a thich paste mix very well.

VEGGIES CAN VARY ( BUT THINLY SLICE EM LIKE THOSE ASIAN SOUPS YOU KNOW)  laugh

Then grab a SOUP bowl chuck some sliced shallots sprouted sunflower sprouts or bean sprouts  or grated carrot for colour , some sliced red capsicum ( i usually slice more red chillies i like the colour red) and optional finally sliced red onion

Then add about a TBS of the rocket  paste to soup bowel and add some hot water of boiling whatever to cover and stir through.....

Here what you end up getting is a kinda miso type asian broth soup witha few veggies for colour through thast VERY HOT and MAD to declogg you so everything can come out Smiley . I find this very soothing.

Last nite i made a milder version of this for mum and added zuchinni noodles from the spirilizer turned out fab but mild for me .

Play around.  yahh
Ps: if you dont have any raw miso make a paste out of many garlic cloves pulvervised after a while it becomes pastey .( i was going to suggest a raw tahini as a base but i feel its too rich ...well it is for me.

Get well soonnnnnnnnn..........hey I have become share owner in Aldi tissues hihiiihihihi  laugh
