Glad hubby was understanding Smiley

And oh yeah, the VitaMix will sure make everything silky smooth, it's just amazing.  When you weigh the base you know you have some serious muscle on your side ohyeah

I made one mistake with mine when it was new, I was blending with water all the food scraps to go on the garden as compost and got more confident each time with the size of things I was chucking in.  Next thing, burning smell and a bit of smoke.  Help!!!!  I'd put a few whole banana peels in and the thick bit at the top had got caught under the blades.  Don't know whether it had stopped or just slowed them from spinning but man was I worried.  Gave it time to cool down and gingerly turned it on and it works fine and hasn't batted an eyelid.  Thank goodness for that!

That's wonderful news Viola - about your great day and about the plants, and about the new fruit trees.  Oh, and the strawberries Smiley  Wow, it's just raining good things for you that's so fantastic yahh

On my junk mail round there's a tiny fruit tree with those tiny orange coloured citrus on it.  I so want to pick and eat, but I refrain cos in my mind that's stealing.  But if I ever remember what they're called I shall buy myself one I think.  We have the teeeeensiest garden, but one of those would grow a treat.  The one I see is only about a metre tall and laden with fruit - drool.

G'day Vi Smiley

I will have to go and have a look what I can find eh?

I remembered the little ones I was on about - kumquats, which you eat the peel as well.  We don't get much sun except mid-day sun down one side for maybe 2 hours and one little corner of the garden that gets from maybe 10 until 4.  I have a small mango tree in that part which last year produced the most yummy mango (singular) so I'm hoping it will give me some more this year.  It was the most divine mango I've ever eaten as my son gave me the tree as a present 4 years ago.

I love it that you have trees for the kids to reach to pick from, that's gorgeous.

Oh Vi you poor poor thing. Come to the sunny coast and the 3 kids can play together hehehe. How old is your bubba. I have two 2 years and 8 months and i am very lucy I have never had a screaming baby (thank you god and if I have another one I am touching wood). I dont know you circumstances so I cant give you any advise I am sorry but if you are bf could it be that you have changed your diet dramatically and it is coming through breastmilk. That really depends on the age of your bubba.

I really hope that things improve soon for you and if it is a sleep thing that he gets into the sleep centre soon.

Love to you Vi PM me if you need to talk okay

I'm still back at the 7.5kg of strawberries for $20. That's awesome. Happy days. Your place sounds lovely....

Hugs for you. I remember when all Caitlyn did was scream for me. If she had a sleep over anywhere else then she was fine. I think mum took her twice because I rang her and said if I didn't get some sleep I would do something crazy.... thanks mum! Of course she came back to me and quickly started crying again.... I know how you feel

I adore your poetry Vi rose

Yes, the posture, the overeating (not saying you do that, just in general) they are all symptoms of pain aren't they?  Such a shame.  So much pain in the world Sad

Vi Connors teeth are doing the same thing its strange isnt it. He has 6 through now so I am sure it is normal for some ppl.

Is this your 1st bubba I remember when Bella was a baby I had coke and it sent her off for the night she had the worst wind in the world. Luckily I lived with my parents and my mother heard me cying all night so she came in and got Bella and within half an hour had calmed her down and she slept for the next 4 hours. I was so happy to get some sleep. that was the first night Bella didnt sleep in our room and guess what I was too tired to notice. stupid coke. Now I wouldnt touch the stuff.

anway Vi I so hope he gets better (whatever is wrong) and he stops crying for you soon

Love Angie

isn't it amazing Vi that some of our best memories are times when materially we don't have much. It just goes to show whats really important in life.

I've been reading your journal and I've noticed That your bub is having some troubles with teething. Please feel free to disregard this but I wondered if you had tried a homeopathic remedy. Camamila is normally used. Or weleda have a remedy for teething with the above ingredients. I really found this worked for me over the years with my tribe. (does he have 1 pink cheek?)

Your doing so well with what your doing. and your on the right path. Keep going. you can do it.

Hi Vi, I'm so glad you have your vitamix and are able to get smoothies happening again! Such a difference to life when there is no blender available.

I hope your little one is sleeping tonight.

Thinking of you...

These photos are great! You have obviously put in a lot of work. I love the idea of having an outside salad box. Thanks for sharing. Your wheatgrass looks fab. Do you use ocean water to stop it from moulding? I've tried to grow it several times and it always goes mouldy for me.  Sad I decided to take Sheryl's advice (from Brett's thread early I think) and use 10% seawater for them. Apparently mould is non existent and the grass gets more minerals too! Win win.

Pete is a horticulturalist and he loves the look of your garden but he said you should do a permiculture (sp?) garden which is a layer of different materials, ie hay, newspaper, manures, mushroom compost, vegie scaps, grass clippings (without sead heads) grass cliping bring the temprature up(by bring the temprature up it encourages microbial (sp?) life with the right amount of moisture, then seaweed extract. You need to let it sit for 3-4 weeks and then plant straight into the layers with a bit of soil. I hope this helps ingnor if you dont want this info (oh ignor the spelling I am not too good at big words that he says).

Pete is so jelouse that you have such a fantastic garden and that is what I want too one day when we own our own house.

You have a vitamix that is fantastic, I dont think we will ever get one they are just way out of our budget.

Oh we want the before pics of you please.

Anyway love the garden have a good night
