CONGRATULATIONS for making that big step towards freedom(this is how one's perspective on heath is= freedom to be and do what you want)! I feel you will benefit enormously from this natural lifestyle.
By reading David Klein's account of curing his bowel disease with a live food lifestyle is a good start. I've read his account myself and I feel I have personally have benefited from it(If you get my drift).
My suggestion would be to still keep the wholegrains(Basmati brown rice is nourishing, as would be quinoa) and maybe serve with raw spinach(if your system can tolerate it) or the like. Try to start meals with something raw, even if it's a carrot, vegetable juice or green apple / ripe pear(Ideal fruit snack with a low G.I. compared with many other fruits).
If you are overweight please do not become fixated with what the scales say(It will happen naturally in time) and focus on how you are feeling, journaling would be good and a regular snap-shot of yourself will keep you motivated. You might start to feel worst initially, don't be to alarmed as you're in detox mode; this will pass.
Psych yourself up with some good publications:
Fit for Life By Marilyn and Harvey Diamond Int best-seller reprinted and reprinted 'classic' your local library would have it. This is a good book to start off with.
Heal your skin from within with vitamins a , e and omega 3 fatty acids sources include: Almonds, avocadoes, flax / linseeds, hemp seeds, carrots etc.
A wise investment would be a blender. Fantastic for creamy and frothy almond milk and great for problem skin too!
Wishing you all the best!
