Hello
I'd love to share some of my raw journey so far...

Moved into a share house in Adelaide, March or April this year (haven't got diary with me). Found this house through a notice for a 'female wanted for healthy household', posted in an Adelaide vego cafe.
Raw vegan pea moved into the same house, a couple of days before me. She's been a major inspiration and support for my raw food living transition.

I have always loved life and valued health. But ever since i met Harley (roughly two years ago) and he gave me a cassette tape recording of David Wolfe's 'Best Day Ever', i have been thinking more and more about the link between what we eat and our health. And not just health, but achieving perfect health. Thanks for the initial seed of inspiration Harley!

I was immediately hooked on the truth David spoke of - about the necessity for perfect health but i don't remember him talking about raw food eating, only the emphasis on the importance of health and his words 'just stop'. And i did. I stopped eating non-organic, food and water that was not contributing to mine or the planet's health, and i consciously made health a number one priority. This was before moving into this sharehouse where i met Pea, Dan and Harley (again) and Neet.

As i said, i have always loved eating healthy food and believed in supporting the organic industry. But i became just so much more inspired when my idea of 'wholefood' eating was expanded to mean TRULY whole food - uncooked. I thought i had been eating wholefood!.. but it took on a whole new meaning when i was introduced to raw!!

So to cut a long story short, several raw cakes, a couple of raw potlucks, many conversations with Pea, Harley, Neet, and Dan (main raw fooders i've met in Adelaide), and plenty of exptremely inspirational/educational books later, i am now in my third month of being 100% raw, and have been transitioning for about 5 months (since i moved in to the sharehouse and began to be inspired)

I must say that it is the PEOPLE around me, who i can talk with and share my thoughts, questions and experiences with, that are the key ingredient in my raw food lifestyle transition. I find it true mostly that things are easier when we are connected with/journeying with other people.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE how i feel eating raw, and enjoy the challenge of moving away from my emotional addictions. Wow, addictions are powerful, and right now i know i need to be around as many raw food inspirers as possible to keep me (us?) on track! Thanks Grant for organising the raw retreat in Sydney recently. Met so many wonderful, juicy people! And great to reconnect with Freely in Sydney too (last time we met, neither of us were raw, and now..i didn't even recognise her!)

Time almost up on library computer.

juicy!

Hey Jasmine,

I know exactly what u mean, it's my 5th day eating raw and my 2nd time round and this time I'm determined to succeed... I agree having like minded people around u when u r raw makes ur transition a little esier, or so I think lol, haven't experienced it myself yet lol lol I have not met anyone in my town who is raw.

On a good note, my friends don't snigger at me anymore  snicker about me being raw. The 1st time they heard I was raw, wow!!!! it was hard to explain to them, and they weren't just cooked food eater's, but junk food eater's  detox, that eating raw didn't mean eating raw meat  detox and salad only lol ......

I'm glad to hear inspirational tales of recent converters to raw it gives me the motivation to keep going and not to give up, that's why I've decided to not only read the posts in forum but to participate, keeps my mind of food (cooked) lol lol....

love from me
