Jen I just wanted to say I was so excited all day for you after you told me of your accomplishment. I love seeing your big heart sing for joy. I cant wait to see you next to hear all about it. My mind has all these questions for you. This is big exciting news and I am so happy for you. ohyeah You have inspired me to train everyday this week excluding Sunday.

Sounds like to me this run is like a big divide in the road as to where you where with your running and where your now heading. No looking back from this point on, its the Jen patrol.  laugh

Love you Jen (Gump)

Becky!!!! I was thinking of you as I approached the finish line. I was thinking of the photo of you in your marathon running that I have here on my wall that I look at every day for inspiration. You have been a massive help. Thank you so much for sharing your story and for posting your photo.

Awwww Sanghama, what can I say to that? Takes one to know one? thank you *blows kisses*

Sacha what can I say? You are always there supporting me. Thanks so much. I'll look forward to that hug! maybe you will run the 10 k with us in June?

I am going to laminate my race number with my time on it today and we are going to run it again soon. Beat our time every time. I'm not that fussed about time to be honest. It's more the distance. I will be happy when I can run 10k's and feel great at the end of it.

I awoke this morning and felt awesome. No muscle tiredness at all. full of beans... so I got my runners on, determined to run 5k's again. I didn't get that far!!! I started out well but then had to stop for Bella's toilet needs and never really bounced back from it. I ran and walked and ran and walked and now I have muscle soreness and need to go back to bed! LOL. Not gonna happen body.

Silly me... I should have rested or just gone for a shorter walk with Bella. Lesson Learned and you know what? tomorrow is another day... I'll rest then! Tee hee.

I do notremeber exactly, how it was done, but most likely they ask for valid email address and the name and the forum name

and they will email You the password.

Jennie let me know if You cant get in, and I will organize it for You via forum boss.

Sacha you can run with me! I'd love it. Les, great! When I get tired I'll hop on the handle bars for a lift! but I promise to only do that uphill.  So you can rest on the way down. How nice is that? LOL.

Well I have taken it easy most of the week. After my attempted run on Monday I rested on Tuesday. I did a short 40 minute walk on Wednesday and nothing on Thursday due to an early meeting with a friend, a huge day here with various things and an after school date with my daughter. Friday (yesterday) I was pumped and full of energy again to do another 5km run.

I have a run mapped out and am looking forward to running most of it. I started out well. I usually get an initial acidic feeling in my legs but it rapidly fades and I have learned to ignore it. I ran close to 1km and then had to stop because Bella needed the toilet. I picked it up in the doggie bag and went to run again and it was like all my muscles had lost their strength! All jelly legged.

I just did some interval stuff until I got my strength back and my last stretch of running was around 2km's so I was happy about that.

I am annoyed though because Bella needs to go to the loo whenever we go. I often need to stop and pick up her droppings and run with them. Am I best of waiting until she has done her business to go or is there something I can do to stop my legs thinking it's finish time? I can't go withouth her. That would just be mean and she is half the reason that I exercise in the first place! I get out of bed for her when I won't for myself....

Thanks in advance for help.

I am not dog poo expert, but it looks natural, when tehj dog starts moving it gets the BM going as well.

So I would plan for it.

Run from home very short run 1-2 km as a very slow warmup, let teh dog do teh thing and return with th result,

and than go for another run, of say 3 km etc.

In that return point between runs have some water (leave the bottle next to mailbox etc) so get used to running with water in the belly for races.

Personally I would advice against longish runs, for both of You.

It is preferable at this stage to do more shorter slow runs, than occasional longish run.

Idealy You can run every day say 2km, or even run 2xday, 1-2 km each time.

This will build up running body much faster also safer, and of course will solve the dogs poo thingy as well.

I'm no dog poo expert either.... laugh

But, years & years ago I knew of a Rottweiler that had been trained to "poo on command".  It was a house dog, and lived in a wee English semi.

I suppose I was thinking if you could somehow train Bella to poo at the very beginning (before you start jogging), then you'd both be home free.   smiley

I'm not a dog whisperer though, nor an animal trainer, so I could be speaking foolish nonsense.  It wouldn't be the first time.
