Free, I feel ya (and so many others) when you talk about eating natural foods, mono meals and no gourmet. It just sounds (and feels) so right. I see clearer now how the gourmet seems to fit more with transitioning rather than long term raw living.
Today I ate mainly fruit - as is - and i loved the simplicity of it.
I feel like this is my first time trying to go raw....?! It wasn't so hard before - why do I feel it is so hard

It is fantastic to just eat simply and I agree it does feel right.  I can relate to what you say about it feeling like the first time going raw, it was like that for me !
It can be challenging for a while as our bodies throw a lot of toxins into the bloodstream because of all the extra energy freed up from eating so simply, this can make us feel tired, grumpy, unhappy etc but it will pass and ideally the feelings should be embraced as it is the body healing.

You get a new set of tastebuds every 10days so if you keep away from stimulating foods like salt, chilli, condiments of any type, cacao etc they will leave your bloodstream and your tastebuds will become nice and clean allowing you to taste the delicate subtle flavours of fruits and greens.

Trust me I thought there was no way I would eat this way at the start - NO WAY but now I seriously prefer to eat this way.  I rememeber thinking eating 100% raw was so extreeeeeme and wasn't my goal initially but there is no way I would now sacrifice this level of health and vitality by going back. It truly feels right.

How was your day today?

Hi Free,
Thanks for sharing - i'm amazed at the tastebud renewal happening so quickly. This make me think about the condiment factor - I have always loved my salt and pepper, but, of course, the more simply we eat, the less necessity there is for those added extras.

Today has been a real day of 'new beginnings' - I have decided to call today 'Day 1'. Day 1 (revisited mind you!) of fresh eating, fresh living, fresh thinking and feeling.
Today I have eaten all raw (minus the tamari in a dressing I make, but not prepared to give that up just yet).
Eats:

60mls wheatgrass juice
banana & greens smoothie - 6 bananas, 1 mango and a handful of spinach and beetroot leaves fresh picked from my garden.

about 5 or 6 bananas on the go throughout the day
several carrots on the go also

1 rockmelon

huge bowl of coleslaw - cabbage, celeriac, carrot, onion and my yummy tahini/tamari dressing.

Have been out of carrots for a few days so have been thrown out of the usual routine. Will get back into the swing of it tomorrow.
Will have a fresh start, and a GREAT day. No excuses. I CHOOSE to.
I learned a few new things tonight that will give me such a boost throughout the day - I'm excited to put it into practice in the home.

Must fly, things to do, love to all

Yes it is quite amazing hey? It really is a small amount of time and the delicious flavours of the fruits and vegies really is unique.  I always used to dislike celery for a long time until I cut out all the condiments and really started to taste it, now i find it so salty and pleasing!
Congratulations on Day 1 x

haha Hi Free! Well I didn't bother updating day 2 as it was a bit of a write off - It started really well but I ended up having some yuk takeaway with the family for dinner - plain and sinple LAZINESS was all that was. Other than that it was neutiful fruit and some coleslaw, plenty of juice etc.
Have been too busy to post over past 2 days too, still am but will take a quick moment.

Yesterday I had a not quite raw cereal with soy milk - my choice and it didn't bother me. Had 3 bananas later, then 3 mangoes at lunchtime - and was seriously nauseas  for the rest of the day to a point where i had to lay down. It was awful. Just the thought of food - any food - made me feel sick.
I felt great though thismorning after a nice long sleep. All raw today - just fruit - haven't been home long enough to make juice/wheatgrass juice etc like i normally do. Today I have been to the beach twice and have had a lovely day with my son. My daughter started at daycare today so i have the freedom to do things with Lachie on a monday that we normally couldn't do due to challenges with Stef's autism. They both go on Thursday so I'm not going to know what to do with myself - I think another trip to the beach is in order for sure! We live less than 15mins walk or a 1-2 minute drive to the beach, but i can count on one hand the amount of times we have been since we've lived here - it's been a year....
Think I'll have coleslaw for dinner - might try and mix it up by making a different dressing for it - I saw you and Neet listed quite a few over the past few days that sounded pretty yum.

Cool, well thanks for your interest and support, and everyone else too.
Sending much love

hey spunk glad to hear you are enjoying your rawness babe....ohh and the beach wow,so close you are very lucky ....there will be perfect sand in your hair from now on with summer coming, ohhh what a way to go!!

glad you arent feeling nauseous today love...with a not quite raw mueslie would take up to 8-12 hours to digest....if you wanted to eat something like that again, better to have as a last meal of the day then it wont fight the fruit(nothing like fruit and cooked biffo to make you churn....argh!)

keep smiling lovely xxxx

Hi CarmieJ
what a great day to go to the beach.  Here in Adelaide i have been in my veg garden setting up the irrigation system.  When my kids were young I always wanted a veg garden but never could manage the time.  It is going great guns now and i am enjoying it.  I will probably only have it for another year as we are moving in a year or two.  But it is fun may be i can work something out for the garden when we move not sure reallya s there is no yard to be had any where.
But it is right on the beach bout 1-2 mins walk.
You might like to try the dressing i just posted on my journal on your colelsaw - it is a creamy one and you can alter the flavours by adding some herbs etc to it.  I also like baby cabbage as the basis of the slaw as it is sweeter and lighter - may be try next time huh?
Glad to hear that you get  a break 'from' your daughter and can enjoy it doing everyday stuff without the added complications that autism imposes - such a challenge every minute of the day.  You need and deserve a break.

hi all, hope eveyone has had a lovely day. My day has been nice enough. I have been feeling very very off again today - I am putting it down to the 'not quite raw' cereal and/or the soy milk. The only cooked thing in the cereal would be the rolled quinoa - i assume it's cooked anyway...
Well I am seeing a pattern to my eating - a pattern which I decided a little while ago would help family matters..I eat 99% raw during the day, cooked at dinner time. The reason I chose to do this was to take pressure off myself in the kitchen with all the different meals i seem to be making for everyone. I am finding though that I am not really enjoying it, nor does it seem to be making a difference. Family life is better, but it has nothing to do with what I have/have not been doing in the kitchen.
6 days ago when I had my 'Day 1', my 'new beginning', I decided to go back to all raw, however, I have not stuck with that. I know I have the strength in me, and I remember how great I felt 100%.
I know exactly what I need to do, to allow myself to feel my best, to look my best and to be my best. I just have to put it into action.

It is all good! - I often find myself writing alot more in my journal than I originally intend to. Thoughts and feelings just seem to flow through my fingers into what i type.  Oops doesn't look like tat makes sense...  dunno
So no more declarations of day 1, or day 85 or whatever, just going to go with the flow, practice my wonderful breathing techniques more regularly during the day, to connect to me, to love me and to honour me.
I want to make a positive difference to the lives of everyone I come across - to people I know and love; to people I walk past in the street, or talk to on the phone.

Frang - I LOVE your photo! You are so radiant, you look amazing! I will try your salad dressing recipe for sure -- I just made some onion bread you posted the recipe for in your journal. I think I will love it - i was really off today so tastes and such were all weird. Stef loved it. Another raw winner with the little munchkin!

RGG - nice to hear from you - I've been doing a lot of looking but not much in the way of posting lately. I will take your advice re eating the cereal/heavier things at night. Oh, and I read about your melon belly - I scoffed a melon today as I was sooo hungry, and yes, you guessed it - my poor tummy didn't like it.
My poor sweet body keeps screaming at me - giving me all these signals that i just ignore.... got to start listening...

Love to everyone!

Thanks Carmij
bout the onion bread, If you cant eat all of it quickly - I recon taht it keeps for about 2 weeks only then flavours start to change, put it in the freezer, that keeps it fresh for ages.

Journals are lovely place to visit, I have kept a journal for 20 years or so; in order to 'keep' a journal it is suggested that at the end of the week a summary based upon a review of the week is posted, but i have never been that organized or have that much time to do so.  I did it for a little while but ran out of time again...and inclination.  It is great to get the stuff out of your life onto paper and if it is a problem then symbolicly burn it, (the piece of paper you write on) as a symbol that it has gone.

Journals are like looking into a rear view mirror, to be glanced at not lived in - or you never move on.... but used wisely they are a great tool for helping you to move onto another chapter in your life.  Have fun with it, draw pictures, use colours, take photos, scribbal, put special cards, pieces of fabric, recipes etc etc etc in your journal and enjoy it....
