Hello,

Wondered if anyone can help? My son (7) has an ear infection. Has been going on a while. Started with a mild ache - but no fever - then a few days ago a really smelly discharge started coming out of the ear. It isn't clearing up and I've got a prescription for antibiotics which I am loathe to give him. I've just got some collodial silver and am planning on trying this for a couple of days before resorting to the antibiotics if there's no improvement. I'm giving it to him orally. Can I also put it directly into the ear? Any other suggestions would be really appreciated.

Onion Juice. I had terrible ear infections as a child but since finding onion juice, I haven't had any. I have used it once on my daughter (6) and once on my son (14mths). Simply juice the onion and pour a few drops into the ear, then put a bit of cotton ball in, to keep the juice in. It has a warming sensation which eases the ache.

Poor thing i just had this a couple of months ago and boy isnt it worser as you get older.

Do not take antibiotics as it causes candida and other problems with in the body.

I used colloidal silver and olive leaf extract and that helped orally. In the ear i put vinegar mixed with a tiny bit of hydrogen peroxide but vinegar alone is good.

Do not use hydrogen peroxide in his ear otherwise it can go into the ear canal and cause crackling of the ear for the rest of his life.

Many thanks for your replies. Love the advice. I'm a bit concerned about putting stuff in his ear because it sounds - from what the doctor has said - as though the ear drum is perforated. I've been researching collodial silver on the internet and found out that it shouldn't be put in the ear if there's any chance of the drum being perforated. What do you think?

Nonsense i had perforated ear drum and it heals itself. I still put vinegar in my ear and now its better. I didnt take antibiotics either as i already got debilitating depressing candida from the ones i took before hand.

I also read if you do not want to put anythign harsh in the ear to juice some wheat grass heals perforated ear drum quickly. Try that i almost forgot about it. I used wheat grass juice to heal my eyes. its a gem.

I have used onion juice on myself with a perforated eardrum.

I agree with the things RGG suggested too. Very wise. Lots of water, sunshine, rest.

Thanks again. I'll put everything into practice - except the sunshine! Freezing temperatures here in the UK at the mo!

Hi garfield,

Not yet, but planning a session once this infection has cleared up. Know someone who's going to give us both a treatment. Can't wait!

I was chatting to a raw friend today who is a coconut oil lover! Her young grandaughter has recently had an ear infection. The doctor told her daughter that unless she gave her daughter anti-biotics that she would end up deaf.

Anyhow, she didn't listen to her doctor. She got some olive oil, mashed some garlic into it and mixed it. Once it had settled a little, she got a dropper and popped one drop in the ear. Cleared it up nicely!

That's great, Jen! Keep meaning to feedback what happened with Zach. I was waiting till we'd had the ear candle treatment to report back, but that keeps being postponed for one reason or another. Anyway, after just a day and a half of collodial silver the discharge stopped and he was as right as rain. It was like magic. We combined this with a couple of days at the seaside. Took him for a check-up at GP's a week or so later and got the all clear - perforation healed. He's been great ever since. I'm SO pleased I didn't give him the antibiotics. He's looking so well and glowing now.

When my daughter was little, she also had a perforated eardrum and we were told to not put any fluid whatsoever in her ear. So, we put some Weleda Levisticum in there and she was cleared within two days. Levisticum drys out the ear canal and fluid in the ears. I kept her on that for three weeks and Bob's ya uncle. My midwife also taught me about the onion except we put some water in a pot, boil it with the lid inverted on the top, pop the onion on the lid and warm it up. Pop the onion in between some gauze, put that on the ear, bandage it on on the head until the pain goes away. That takes about 30 minutes.

Any immune enhancing remedies will help, echinacea, olive extract, etc., and keep him off mucus forming foods such as dairy and wheat.

Good luck!
Michele.

Brock got a sore ear today. His temp went through the roof and his energy dropped quickly. I put a drop of coconut oil in his ear and the pain went away and he is back to normal! Awesome.
