Hi,

Is there a brand of Australian probiotics that someone can recommend?  I notice that in Australia the actual ingredients (of the carry medium) are not listed on the bottle... I am looking for something preferably non-dairy and containing bifidobacteria, and I am trying to avoid ingredients like maltodextrin.

Thanks a bunch,

Take a look at InLiven by Mivitality- a probiotic with 13 strains of bacteria (full spectrum not just a couple) and 26 Certified Organic living wholefoods. (All dried at less than 35 degrees, I checked)  It's a "green powder" that you can mix up with water or juice... Bacteria is all sourced from plant material - apparently there are some very dubious sources of bacteria around...I've heard some really gross things...

(BTW, yes - I work for ONE Group who make this product...but the feedback we get on this product from health practioers & customers is great.  Me & my whole family take it...)

Link to the site is in my siggie if your interested. Smiley

Inner Health Dairy free capsules or powder,  Bioceuticals Symbiotique, or Nutrition Care Lactobac powder (last two are practitioner only products). Lactobac is heat stabilised, but all three products should be kept in the fridge. Have a look in the fridge at your local health food shop, or ask in a pharmacy with a consulting naturopath. x

Hi, I have used many different types of pro-biotics from powders to liquids and have found the best way to maintain healthy levels of the good guys is through using kefir. Many people say that dairy milk has to be used but I find that fresh almond milk with some coconut juice works realy well. The culture loves it, seemed to me like it was growing although I did not weight it to find out. I have been leaving the coconut juice out lately as have bought to many rotten ones, instead I put in a dessertspoon of honey; it works but not as well.
I got my kefir grains off a guy called Dom in Adelaide who is well known for his knowledge on kefir (Gabriel Cousens mentions him in his book Lean Green Cuisine). There is a kefir network through Harold Tietze's website. I think it is www.wise-mens-web.com
Dom's site is http://users.chariot.net.au/%7Edna/kefirpage.html
Much better to do it yourself than supporting companies(I feel) puts some power back in our hands.
Hope this helps.
