To grow hair put cucmber juice on the scalp leave it over night and wash in the morning, do this on and off for as slong as you like. Contains silica. Drinking it is good too lol.

Coconut oil mask once a week helps to keep it healthy and thick.

I don't wish to appear silly, but what exactly do you do with it?

I use a brand called “nui” 100% certified organic virgin coconut oil, as a body / face moisturiser.

On the rare occasions I have used it in my hair, it has always been a bit of a disaster. As despite washing and re-washing my hair, I have found the oil very hard to remove (even though the label on the tub says it’s ideal for hair)

So my questions are:

1) How much oil do you use?

2) How long do you leave it on?

3) Do you apply it to completely dry, wet or towel dried hair?

4) How do you remove it? With water? With Shampoo? Or do you just leave it in your hair?

I have left it in my hair before, as I had problems washing it out. My hair did not look healthy and thick, I just looked like Elvis on a greasy bad hair day.

Hi Kitty kat,

As a hair treatment you really don't neet a lot as it's quite concentrated, leave it on overnight(if possible) and wash it out in the morning.

I hope this helps!

I put it on dry hair before I went to bed. Got woken up at some ungodly hour by one fat cat sitting on my pillow and licking my hair!

Despite washing it out the next day, noticed the Australian flies (bane of an Australian summer) were very much attracted to my head, even appeared to be some mating going on around my ear area.

I went mental flapping my arms and hands around and quietly went insane trying to discourage them.............there is a very good reason why it’s called the “Australian wave”!

I wash my hair thoroughly in water that comes out of my shower filter. I then rinse with Apple Cider Vinegar. It turns out really soft, shiny and really clean.

Hey everyone

I have really long thick wavy brown hair and I never thought I would cut it off.....but now I really want to go short...it feels heavy and cumbersome and I want  to feel light and FREE!

It's important, as part of my radical overhaul that I also go very blond!!! I've done this before and it looks fab, but goodness knows what those chemicals do to my scalp.

I would luuuurve some great tips to getting very blond hair with as few chemicals as possible. Any ideas???

Hi Love Spirit,

I asked my 'raw' naturopath if she could suggest a completely natual teeth whitener. She
suggested I use 1 part hydrogen peroxide to 4 parts filtered water.

I went to my local pharmacy (hate going into those places) to buy the hydrogen peroxide. The
sales assistant gave a bottle to me and read the instructions - can be used as a mouth rinse.

She said that actually, a lady came in the other day and bought some for making her hair blonde!

My naturopath said it's completely safe to use as teeth whitener, so I'd imagine the same would
be true if used as a hair lightener.

Not sure what the measurements would be.

I think you need hydrogen peroxide 6 for this. For hair. The product alone does not work as well without chemicals like ammonia added to it. So i guess you have to find what natural things can go with the hydrogen peroxide to make it lighter. I was thinking maybe peroxide with citric acid powder, dont know why i thought that.

There is hydrogen peroxide 3, 6 and food grade. They can all be confusing. 3 is used for cuts, teeth and cleaning. Food grade for bacteria, cleaning and body use.  I accidentally bought 6 which is for hair and put it on my face and it made me red raw. This was on the advice of a lady who later said i should have used food grade for my face.
