Hello lovely Sydney people,

I'm coming to Sydney next weekend with my husband and my 2 beauty kids.  yahh yahh

We're flying in on Friday night, 23rd and leaving on Sunday. So what do we do, where do we go? Are there any raw things happening? Does anybody want meet up? I would love to come up and meet some of you Sydney people and have raw fancy times!   ohyeah

My husband has to go to a work thing on Saturday night so it'll just be me and the kids (2 girls, a 3 year old and a 6 month old) looking for exciting things to do. We wont have a car but we'll be staying in a hotel in the CBD.

Where are the places to go and see in Sydney? I've spent time in Sydney as a SADy but now I want to know if there are any great places to check out raw? Where are the fantastic salad? Where to I go to get my yummy organic fruits? Are there any cafes that do a bit of yummy raw? Any funky markets or interesting things we should check out (on public transport...)?

I'm so looking forward to getting to the beach!  yahh

Hey there,
You just missed the busiest activity we've ever had in the rawfood community here in Sydney with all the guest speakers from the US and the MBS Festival...unfortunately there's no events on during your visit.  Our groups potluck which typically is held on the last weekend of the month has been moved by a week because so many of our members are up in Byron Bay at the Dr Douglas Graham seminars.  If you're staying in the city and need produce, Paddy's at Haymarket has good prices - though not organic.  Paddington Market (Oxford Street) on Saturday is always good.  There is a market at The Rocks as well.  Darling Harbour for the kids.  Fox Studios Farmers Market. There are lots of juice bars in the CBD and salad takeaway places are pretty common.  The coastal walk from Bondi to Coogee is amazing.  The ferry ride to Manly.  Taronga Zoo by ferry.  The weather forecast is good, so you should have lots of fun!  Sorry I can't meet up with you, I'm flat out with work and am leaving for overseas on Sunday...
Please have a look at our groups website and the links...
Best! xoxo Gay

Like already said, there are lots of juice bars/salad places in the CBD and here is the link for the NSW Vegan Society http://www.vegansocietynsw.com/vs/html/index.html

It has a good list of vegan restaurants that aren't raw specifically but they might have more options than standard cafes.

Iku Wholefood (www.iku.com.au) might have some good options too (there's one I have been to @ Neautral Bay, but it's been awhile)

At three locations in the city:

MLC Centre Food Court, Martin Place, Ph 9233 8001

MET Centre Entrance to Wynyard Ramp, 273 George St, Ph 9251 0111

AMP Plaza Shop 15, Food Court, 50 Bridge St, Opening mid August

Check out the guide to Newtown: http://www.vegansocietynsw.com/vs/html/guidetonewtown.html for Macro, Dr Earth Health Foods and Alfalfa House.

And if you decide to hop on a ferry and come over to Manly we have a gorgeous beach and there is Pure Organic a nice cafe and organic fruit and veg + other produce store and also One Earth Cafe but that is mostly cooked veggie food not raw.

I hope the weather fines up, it's grey and a bit drizzly today but it's not unbearable Smiley

Also thanks for the link to the Sydney group, Catmom. Would be good to eventually meet some other rawbies.
