i think so, too!  I use it for many things, but I don't use it for soap in the shower.

I think the most useful products to have in the home are coco oil and dr bronners soap.

i use the coco oil to wash my whole body and face.  I also use it for if i ever need a lube for something like a juicer or gear or something along those lines.

the soap i use for many things like washing dishes, clothes, and even as a pesticide for the little plants in my garden that are getting devoured by the little buggies.  put a tiny amount in a spray bottle of water, and spray on the leaf.  I try to grow enough for us all, but sometimes I feel like i need to save the plant.  you can use it in the shower or even as a shampoo, but i find it to be drying.  it is a great product.  if i washed my car ever i'd use it to do that, too.  economical, and earth friendly.  a must have in any home.  it has the jen seal of quality.

How about just water and sunlight?

Well it’s difficult to get bacon fat off a frying pan with just water and sunlight!

It's funny that this posting should come up, only an hour ago I was having a discussion with hubby about a suitable alternative to washing up detergent.

For a while now we have been using an environmentally friendly brand called Sonet from Germany but we would like to go more natural and I wondered aloud whether apple cider vinegar or baking soda would suffice instead.

Most days I actually find myself washing up in just hot water. This is fine if we have been eating raw but obviously almost impossible if we have been eating bacon.

Good point, rawgasm! - water acts like a solvent for soiled / stained textiles.

That soap in a nutshell looks great.  Thinking of ordering.

As for any other cleaning products, I actually use Enjo products.  I used to do home demonstrations for Enjo, and they are short of a miracle.  You use less water...which is an essential now in Brissie LOL....and you don't use chemicals.

They are a little ex-y when you have to pay upfront, but they last for at least two years.....if not longer if you look after them.

So if anyone is interested, I could perhaps help you with any queries......if I can't answer them, then I'll find out for you.

No, I no longer work for Enjo......just recommending the product.  And I receive no kickback for recommendations either laugh

Thanks for the brilliant link. Never heard of it before but I am certainly going to buy and try some.

This is from the FAQ page on their website:

12. Can I use soapnuts with cold water?

Yes! The saponins release more slowly in cold water but they still work effectively. If you want to speed up the release of the saponins in cold water, pre-soak them in some warm water beforehand.
